Hotel was extremely speedy at replying to my email questions before I travelled and helped with recommendations in the area. Lovely peaceful hotel and clean rooms with hot water shower all day. Room exceeded expectations and staff extremely friendly and helpful.
Good for someone on a budget

Clean, great value. Very basic. A good fifteen minute walk to the beach . Feels a little remote from restaurants and bars. A ten minute taxi ride in to cavelossim .
Would recommend if you are on a budget .

Feel at home kind of place with nice staff and housekeeping. Wish it had a functional kitchenette.
Will definitely make it a point to visit again when opportunity provides.
Walking distance from Valor/Carmona beach.

We had a brilliant stay at the Veeniola and were looked after so well by Prasad and the other staff members. Prasad was so friendly and helpful and accommodated our every need. We'd made a special request in regards to our room with the owner Charlie prior to our arrival and we were so happy to arrive to our room exactly as requested. Thank you! The room was a really good size with nice balcony and good sized bathroom. Nicely decorated too. Location is not far from the beach and we hired bicycles locally which meant we could explore more of the local area. Thank you to Prasad, Charlie and the team for such a lovely stay. What a wonderful welcome to Goa.
Very laid back simplicity at the Veeniola

The accommodation is simply arranged on two levels of 13 rooms arranged around what was once an open courtyard now roofed over. We stayed in a Superior Twin (Executive) Room, one of 8 rooms on the first floor, which included everything for the price, Safety Deposit in the Room, Air Con, Ceiling Fan, TV and Fridge. Other features included Free Wi Fi and Beach towels. The Room was very basic and in need of updating (I think the marketing photos are from when it was originally constructed). It lacked sufficient power points in the right place so a good extension lead with multiple UK sockets and adapters is essential if you have a lot of gadgets/electrical gear. Storage space was also lacking, the main one was the Safety Deposit which was a steel lockable wardrobe with a safe inside requiring a total of two keys to operate. The Room itself was simple bright and light with just enough space for two people and with a good size shower room. The bed (two singles pushed together) was spacious and comfortably firm for us but the curtains were not blackout - again not a problem for us in the end. The shower was excellent with plenty of hot water in the morning and evening. However hot water to the wash basin was delivered via a jug from the shower unit tap. The shower room had 2 power points in strange positions but one was convenient for an electrical tooth brush/shaver. We also had a good size balcony and the glazed doors opened fully to effectively extend the room outside. However the immediate view was of the roof to Wally's Bar/restaurant below with distant views of palm trees and the sunset through the trees. The room was very clean as was the rest of the premises with room cleaning and linen changes every two days. Francesca the owner and Richard her son were available most of the time but not constantly which was not a problem to us. They were the most friendly and accommodating of hosts with nothing being too much trouble - extra toilet paper as the rolls were very small! The accommodation also has a small bar/restaurant Wally's which had great selection of drinks at good prices and very good food at above average prices but worth it. The bar and restaurant was very well laid out with proper wooden furniture and concrete benches (requiring cushions) but watch out for the mosquitos early evening which Wally attempted to eradicate with his special incense burners. The problem was that it was not open when we needed it most, such as an early breakfast or late afternoon drink and closed after breakfast on Sundays. Breakfast started from 08:00 but not until Wally had cleaned all the tables and floor. Wally was a great character always friendly and very laid back.
Altogether we found the Veeniola a great place to stay in a quiet very peaceful area of Tamborim (but next door to the Dona Sa Maria). It is about good 20 minute walk to the lovely Carmona/Zalor Beach through a quaint village and open countryside with plenty of bird spotting opportunities along the way. The main resort of Cavelossim in the opposite direction is a 15 minutes taxi ride away for about 300 rupees each way - excellent value. You can also hire scooters and push bikes locally to explore the area further.
