Nothing but the best
on Apr 12, 2017
i am a traveler, not a tourist. i would always prefer a calm & quite place to find peace within my self, in Manali vashisht was an obvious choice far from the routine Manali tourist, the cafes here are awesome & not to forget the all famous German bakery.
so my obvious choice to stay was @ vashisht village & so i landed up in vashisht home stay managed by Mrs. Banarjee, a super homely feel all necessary amenities, hot water 24/7(But who needs it when u have a hot water spring right next to u), power backup jaw dropping view, great surrounding & the cheery on top was the warm gesture of the owner, i would advice young couples & foreigners to stay here a must.
Homely & Warm
on Aug 9, 2016
Quietly tucked inside, on the edge of the hills, with a breathtaking view, this place is simply one of the best! It gave me such a homely feeling & the caretakers and Mala herself were such great warm hosts wanting to provide the best comfort for me during my stay. This one is definitely recommended.
Home away from home

The view from the room (B1) is absolutely stunning. The homestay is clean, quiet, airy and spacious. There is running hot water. Definitely recommended for people who want quiet time in the hills to read, write or simply take time off. The host is warm and friendly. I stayed for one one night but would like to go back soon.
Warm Cosy Home in the Himalayas
on Jul 18, 2016
Vashisht's home stay and cafe immediately resonated with my idea of a homestay. It gives you that feeling of warm cosy comfortable place, like a home. It is NOT a hotel, so people expecting the host and their help to go out of their way to serve you then you might want to search for something else.
That said, the place is small and quaint but charming offering you a great view of the snow clad mountains and beas river flowing by. The rooms are neat and clean and are made to make you feel like you are in your own "bedroom" rather than feel like you are in some "plush hotel".
Getting to Vashisth homestay from Manali is a 40 min walk or 20 min auto ride. One can also take a more adventurous shortcut that starts from the end of Old Manali.
The place is off the main Vashisht road which is full of hotels, tourist shops, grocery shops and what not... That fact that it so close all the amenities that one may need especially when you chose a homestay is a big plus!
The more touristy Vashisht spring is 5 min walk upwards from the homestay.
The host Mala is really sweet and helpful and so is her assistant/help.
While you can ask them prepare the comforting home food, she was sweet to allow me to cook my own meal - baked bean on toast! :)
If you are looking to stay away from the hustle bustle of New Manali and are done visiting Old Manali and all the cafes that it has to offer, Vashisht is a great alternative. If you wish to spend weeks and months in Manali/Vashisht area you definitely want to consider this place as one your primary options!
Excellent view, comfortable like home
on Jun 13, 2016
I and my family stayed there after holi 25th-27th Mar 2016.
It has excellent view when you go to the balcony.
The owner mala is very nice. like the name: Home stay, it is like home when we stay there. It has kitchen, you can order. Or you can cook by yourself.
Mala said we were the first Chinese guest for her hotel. So I'd better write some review by Chinese for the next Chinese hiker. :)
