Regressive Hotel Policy
on Oct 31, 2017
My Husband and I along with my Father and Mother in law stayed here in Oct end.
We were asked to provide our marriage certificate as soon as they saw my id card which has a different surname than my husband's.At first we were fumbling to find any pics off of our facebook profile just so i can get it over with as i had 2 old people with us and then remembered we had a certificate with us which we have been carrying for past 2 years hoping never to use them as we travel across india quite frequently.Even though we were there with 2 aged people along with us , they thought of enforcing their discretion arbitrarily. Its not a rule from Hotel associations of India but still such hotels, and a Business hotel on top of that ,have such regressive policy in 2017.The Supervisor had the guts to tell casually to change my surname to avoid this scenario.Utter nonsense.Do they ask for proof from foreign nationals, ask them for marraige certificates?I have nothin against the facilities and services provided but this happening in the checkin time was extremely degrading.People may say they reserve the right to allow accommodation, but such behaviour is not expected from a business hotel , may be from a small scale lodge. So people please carry your certificate or any marriage pics for their satisfaction if at all you want to stay at this place after my review.

Expect standard as much as you pay, is my principle. This hotel is value for money. Huge lobby, good cleanliness, efficient and courteous staff. Rooms and bathrooms are reasonably clean but need upgrading. Breakfast is sufficiently decent. And absolute value for money Hotel. Walking distance to shopping hub Gurukul market.
Terrible and scary

How would you feel if a hotel employee entered your room without permission using a master key at 3 AM in the night while you slept. That's exactly what happened with me and a colleague who stayed here during a business trip to Ahmedabad. Fortunately, I was awake when he attempted to enter the room.By the time I went to the door to check - he was gone.
The security staff were denying it saying no one has access to the master key. When we insisted on checking the CCTV footage, we noticed that the employee blurred the camera view using a fumigation machine and gassed it, so any evidence of his alleged entry won't be plausible.
I strongly discourage visitors from booking this hotel due to it's lack of security and staff accountability.
VALUE FOR MONEY

Treatotel, is a boutique kind of a hotel, with friendly staff, brilliant breakfast spread and a clean layout. The rooms are comfortable and neat, with the electric kettle, which makes life easier in all seasons. The hotels proximity to the Sterling Hospital and to the main attractions of Ahmedabad make it a convenient and affordable place to stay even on a long term plan.
