Stayed here for two nights, after only staying one night last year! This year we were lucky to get the room above their shop! Therefore beautiful views and you can hear the sea at night! Truly a magical experience! I love palolem. Definitely stay in a tree house when in Goa! I'll definitely be back again!
Right on the beach - great value

We spent five days in a beach front hut with balcony. Perfect location in the middle of the beach with a very beautiful view of the ocean. The accommodations were basic but comfortable and the price was very reasonable for the location. It's a family business and they were all very friendly and helpful. We used Tony's taxi service a couple of times. He was always very helpful and his prices were fair. No need to beat him down. He is a man of integrity who does not prey on tourists. Very refreshing!
renovate before a guest is killed

I gave a two-star because one of the owners was cheerful to me on the street.
I rang up a number mentioned on the sign board, and a man picked my call. He was clearly high on something--he asked me to wait for an hour--man it was around 12:30 am, thus I rang up another number from the board, it was a lady who picked my call and offered me a room (well I have a room now).
I wasn't expecting 5 star quality, and I don't stay in such places. It was a hut, around 30 metres from the beach (walk through huts and huts). I unlocked the door and it was smelly, I don't mind the smell, all I need is a bed to sleep. The room was all carpeted, which looked nice; the bed was hard, which I enjoyed it; the bed-sheet was full of sand, which I didn't mind cleaning and there was a table by the window.
I tried to latch the window, but it wont!!! Why? The window was too small for the pane and the split window won't meet each other, not was funny. Totally insecure I climbed into the bed. Really tired..., I was knocked out within minutes. The next morning I went into the shower, oh man, it must have been an untrained dog who had used the toilet before me; I am sorry. We are trained to flush the toilet, but whosoever used the loo before me has no such idea--I cleaned it and still used it (BTW no towel, nothing is provided)
I wasn't sure if I must shower or brush! I opened the tap and comes the red water, I said lord I am not gonna use that water to rinse my mouth, and the shower wasn't any better, it had a strange foul smell. Now the water won't drain, so I walked to the corner to check if the drainage pipe is clogged--it was. But before I could do anything I almost fell off the hut through a hole--the wooden floor was eaten up by termites or the water leakage destroyed it, lord knows but the carpet had perfectly covered the hole on the bathroom floor.
Not knowing what to do, I rested my arm on the carpeted wall, and the wall almost fell on top of me. Walls were made of plywood and the lower part was all gone because of the leakage. I packed my bag, smiled at the owner's daughter, told her I am leaving Goa and walked to Cafe Del Mar for breakfast and later found a way way better hut for half the price they charged me.
And as I write this review I pray that there is no thunder storm in Goa, because I am fear the worse that the hut will collapse when guests are asleep. Oh, I gathered that the other huts were far better than what was allotted to me.

The cottage is not even 20 meters away from the beach and it looks beautiful..Though in summers it's extremely hott as it only has a fan and water cooler..another problem is only one socket..either plugin cooler of charge your phone..But the owners are extremely sweet and kind..The sweetest people there in fact....Thumbs up for budget travellers
