Up above so high

Situated on the edge of a cliff overlooking the mountain ranges of Chinakanal, the Wind Munnar is a surprising delight package. The best aspect is the hotel staff who are extremely courteous and well mannered. They were always ready to help out with a smile for every request. This byfar is one of the best service i found in Munnar by standards.
So let's get down to other things; starting with room. All Rooms have balconies with panaromic views of the mountains and valley. The room adjoining the reception where i stayed has arguably the best view. Rooms are large and airy with neat bathrooms. It looks like the place had seen better days and now it's just getting old. The windows need cleaning and the fittings have also become old and cranky. But the moment you enter the room you forget these small issues and just enjoy the views. The rooms have extremely large windows and the curtains can be pulled back for the full glory of the mountains to behold. Hot water facility is availbel 24x7 in washrooms. Although a shower curtain is lacking, rest all is upto mark. The TV in room is old, there is no Wi-Fi but it didn't matter to me because all i wanted to do was relax with a book. Vodafone/Airtel has 3G here and Jio has 4G network.
The place is not so big and has a resturant with the same panoromic views. Food is good and the quantity is the only thing that can be improved.I had both breakfast and Dinner here and i found the rates as quite reasonable considering the location this is at.
The 1kms road from the bend leading here is narrow and the last 300 meters of approach road here is a hell to drive on. Sedans need to be driven carefully while bigger SUVs can easily come in without issues. The turnings are steep declines but nothing a good driver can't manage. In short, i have seen much worse. Bikers - You have no issues.
The Spice Tree resort is just next door. So, if you take a right from the reception, you end up walking inside the Spice Tree resort . It's arguably a much bigger and better resort with a infinity pool, library, spa and what not. But the rates are also through the roof here. If you want the views then save some money and take The Wind Munnar. If you want a complete resort experience then it's better to stay in Spice Tree.
Secluded place with wonderful view.

We stayed at the wind in December 2018, the staffs were very courteous and welcoming. The hotel is in Chinnakanal and there are 2 beautifull attractions nearby where we enjoyed the most during our stay, Anayirankal Dam & Muniyara sunset view point. You can try the traditional Coracle rafting at Anayirankal dam and enjoy the beautifull Sunset from the less know Muniyara point.
The road towards the hotel is not in a good shape as work is in progress. If you want to spend a leisure laid back holiday this is the place to be, there is nothing you can do after sunset here as it is situated far away from munnar at a secluded place. So keep this in mind before choosing this hotel or else you will be disappointed. The hotel should definitely install a wifi system and put some effort to maintain their room decor. Overall awe enjoyed our stay, see the pics attached.
Excellent Views, Comfortable Stay

This was our second visit to Wind. The property is well maintained. We stayed at the cliff edge cottages. The rooms were neat and clean as always and the views from the balcony were stunning. The staffs were so welcoming and caring throughout the stay. It was great to see few of the staff still there from my last visit & that they recognized us. We truly loved the stay and enjoyed our holidays.
Nice view but very ill-maintained Property, horrible road,no internet & fake reviews!

This property has such outstanding reviews.I wonder who are writing all of that.
A backbreaking journey for almost an hour and half from MUNNAR takes you here.Roads are a nightmare but that's not their fault. What's wrong with them are the fake reviews that they have here and then the fact that they have cracked walls,Ill maintained furnitures and the whole building is in a sad state. They don't have Wi-Fi...Can you beat that?
Only good thing is the view which is nice from the Honeymoon cottage.Their photos in internet are from the days when it was inaugurated. It does not look anywhere like that now!
Blessd with the panorama..

Situated in the cliff offering panoramic view of the green valley...The management photos in Tripadvisor are mostly from the best cottage they have, as the honeymoon cliff cottage we stayed in doesn't match up to Website pics. Otherwise a good stay mainly bcz of the unhindered valley view from the balcony, friendly staffs and oven fresh breakfast. Room decor and furniture is dated. However, there is scope for lot of improvement. A point to note that the road to the resort is dreadful with very poor road conditions and many sharp and narrow hairpin bends and is difficult to locate in dark.
