We would love to return here!

Meenu and Rajesh are great hosts, food is nice and the best is the unlimited cups of tea and coffee we had. Loads of small walks and trails are around the property including one to Cherry farms. Excellent place for a photographer
A Slice of Heaven .....
on Oct 28, 2017
We stayed there for One night with my Twins Kids on our return Journey from Kinnaur. After relishing mesmerising and matchless beauty of Kinnaur , but without homely hospitality and callous attitude of Kinnauri People , We found some person at last in Wilderness to talk and think like amicable being with cordial welcome...It's just beside Tani Jubbar Lake at Narkanda or Thanedar atop a hill...Initially I was upset as I was not provided the Room I requested in mail and instead provided different Room !!.... As we settled down gradually we began to submurge in a mood of " Lotus Eaters" , free from all anxieties , obligations and lacklustre attitude of Himachali people....!!..... It's a # Bliss in Solitude amidst greenery and traquility .The Staff of the resort took a lot of care of us and privided food what we asked for.One could not expect 5 star cuisines or efficiency of Chef David Rocco, but they served tasty food. They even packed some sandwiches for my kids when we checked out.Silence in green Valley is the hallmark of this place. One can listen different sounds of Nature, an Ideal Leisure Place for Nature Lovers. We had some sound and cordial conversation with the Owner who seemed to be a true gentleman without any guile but with smile.....My kids loved that place as they enjoyed some indoor games and roamed in the Valley like free birds Far from the Madding Crowd.....Although , TV DID NOT Work ......We find enough company of Nature and reason to Come back again.......
Wilderness, a lifetime memory or another home away from home
on Jul 3, 2017
The Wilderness is situated in one of the most beautiful parts of this world - Tannijabber, in the Narkanda valley. We stayed here twice en-route a driving trip in Himachal Pradesh.
This is Rajesh's home in an apple orchard, where you are treated like family.
The rooms are quite large and comfortable. Most have a balcony with a stunning view of the sunrise and you can take a short steep walk to view an equally amazing sunset.
The food is good and there are fresh fruits from the orchards. A family lounge, a terrace with a view and the bonfire in the evening all add up to this wonderful experience.
Thank you Rajesh, your family and the people of wilderness for the warm welcome and friendliness. We will be back soon.
Brilliant location, good property, friendly owners
on Jun 30, 2017
The property is located in a beautiful, green, woody and secluded hideout about 8 km from Narkanda on the road to Thanedar. It overlooks a green valley and affords spectacular views of multipe range of mountains all the way upto the Himalayas. It takes about 6 - 7 hours of driving from Chandigard Airport to reach this place. The roads were good.
The room that we stayed in (room no 3) was large, clean and well furnished.
Quality of food was good (if a bit repetitive). Dinner comprised traditional Indian cuisine comprising dal, 2 - 3 vegetables, 1 - 2 non veg curries, hot phulkas served at the table, rice, salads, and a sweet dish. Breakfast comprised eggs made to order, Indian beakfast such as Upma, Poha, veg grilled sandwiches and the usual hot beverages. Tasty food.
Booze is not served so its strictly BYOB. There arent many good booze shops nearby so makes sense to either buyer it in Shimla or the port of origin.
Special mention of the owners - Rajesh and Meenu Mukhiyan who were gracious and friendly hosts. They helped arrange for transport to/from Chandigarg Airport - a most reliable taxi operator.
Mobile network is patchy at best. There is no wifi. It really is the ultimate destination to get-away from all the stress of modern day living. Stay here for a few days and come back rejuvenated!
Serenity at its best

The place is beautiful and peaceful. The rooms are warm, comfortable and very very clean. This was our second visit to the wilderness and we would love to come back again.
The owners are personally involved in all activities and are friendly and helpful. The evenings are made more fun with a bonfire and soft music!
We were treated with pahadi dance by the guys working there.
