Spent 3 nights here. The position is beautiful outside Munnar in the hills.
The road is terrible, full of pot holes so it took our taxi driver nearly 30- 40 minutes to drive to and from Munnar although only a short distance. If there is a lot of rain the road may not exist. Any taller vehicle will not get over the bridge coming into the road to the hotel and will need to go the long route ( ie van or top box on the car)
The position is idilic once you get there but as surrounded by trees and at altitude so some of the cottage rooms are very dark and feel damp. We found 203 much better than 201. 203 was bright and sunny with good views where as 201 everything was damp and overlooked the main entrance. The bedding particularly was damp but did improve when this was changed. At times there was insufficient hot water for 2 showers and it took a long time for the water to run hot. Rooms were all a good size. I would suggest putting the lighter coloured furniture in the darker rooms and not darker furniture
The staff in the restaurant were extremely polite and helpful with a good range of food. The restaurant area was up a v steep hill but excellent area for bird watching and had better internet access than the rooms. The reception staff were less welcoming than other places we stayed in India but efficient and offered to drive us up to the restaurant or up to our room although we chose to walk.
We went on some of the organised walks. The distress relaxation afternoon walk was a short distance on good paths. The morning walk into the cardamom plantation was very steep and you need good shoes and long trousers as there are leeches that many of our group found attached on our return. Ware leech socks or at least tuck your trousers into your socks. Views of the hills were amazing at the top. The guide did not know a lot about the local plants and birds so this is a guide not a naturalist walk. If attacked by leeches squeeze and pull off gently and do not put salt or other substances on as advised by guide. It would have been useful to know the practical information before the walk rather than half way round but despite this, this is an amazing walk
Tea tasting was interesting but there is no tea for sale at the hotel so advise you do this before you go to the tea museum if you consider buying tea. Maybe the hotel could sell tea ? The tea museum is well worth a visit
If travelling to the area be aware the nearest park is closed for several months to protect the endangered goats so you can not visit the park in March when we were there. We found the Dam areas very touristy but maybe this was due to local holidays?
In general I would recommend the hotel. Bring your own nature and identification books, sturdy shoes and appropriate clothes for the walks and where possible choose your room

The food was very tasty and we were bit surprised since we expected south Indian dishes to be great.
But the restaurant also served north Indian food and it was very tasty.
Overall a lovely experience and a perfect location for nature lovers who may want solitude and relaxation.
Thanks to the entire team. We truly will recommend this hotel to all our Friends & Family.

Fantastic hotel, beautiful rooms (very clean) with great views and good hiking in the surrounding area.
Food in the restaurant was great, both breakfast and dinner, but you have to be fit to get up the slope!
Beautiful place to stay with lots of steep climbs

Stayed here for a couple of nights in a beautiful room with gorgeous views. The gardens are beautifully landscaped and lots of really tall trees! If you are not able to make the steep climbs to the Restaurant, they send a car to pick you up. Staff are amazing and friendly and the food was delicious. Catering for western and Indian tastes. Not really suited to prams or wheelchairs as the climbs to the rooms are quite steep. If you’re looking for something romantic, this is ideal. They include free walks in the surrounding areas which is just stunning. Just be aware that the terrain is very hilly.
