Wish we could have stayed longer!

My husband and I stayed at the Tall Trees Munnar, at the top of the Coriander Hills, for two nights in December while traveling around Kerala. We absolutely loved it! The hotel encourages respects, observation and interaction with nature throughout the property. One might be on one of their 3 guided treks per day and come across a new bird, tree or plant. Or, one might just walk along the paths near the hotel and read quotes about nature's magic on the discreet wood-carved signs. The rooms are large and very clean. The bed was huge but extra firm so I slept on a bath towel to soften it a bit. The view of the sunset was spectacular from the balcony of our room (see photo). The staff was warm and welcoming. They gave us advice for sightseeing in the area which proved to be spot on including the Tea Museum and Shristi Center where "alternatively-abled" live, learn to dye fabric and make many beautiful items which can be bought on sought to help raise funds for their center. We would start each day with a delicious breakfast from the buffet, always including one or more of the traditional Indian breads such as dosa. Often, we sat on the balcony of the restaurant overlooking the valley and tea plantations -- and just listened to the birds singing for an hour. So relaxing! After trekking, sightseeing and smiling a lot, we went back to the hotel for an Ayurvedic massage with wonderfully scented oils. Heaven! The hotel has a gathering by a bonfire one night per week, which we really enjoyed, especially as we were able to see our new friends, a lovely family we met at breakfast. Dinner was delicious, too. The buffet offered many tasty Indian dishes as well as some European cuisine and fresh soups everyday. The chicken soup was one of the best I have ever tasted. (Dear Chef -- may I have the recipe?) Overall, this was a relaxing, wonderful few days that allowed us to re-connect with nature and enjoy being alive. I would go back in a heartbeat! (For non-locals, note that the drive up to Munnar is filled with winding, narrow roads and gorgeous views. Bring dramamine or ginger if you tend to get carsick -- like my husband. Still, it was so nice at the top that he would go back again! Thank you to all of the staff at the Tall Trees Munnar! You really made us feel at home with your warm hospitality. Hope to see you again one day.

A beautiful place to stay on a visit to Munnar
on Jan 13, 2019
Tall Trees resort offers individual, en-suite rooms in small (4-apartment) houses spaced out among the incredibly tall trees of this hillside area. There is a restaurant serving a delicious range of foods most of the day. The staff are charming and very helpful. It is a great place to stay on a visit to Munnar. Just be aware the grounds are extensive and on a fairly steep slope!
Awesome Location and Amazing Service

Everything about the stay was beyond perfection. Jijo is an amazing guy who welcomed us very well and ensured we have 2 cottages next to each other. Everyone in the staff were very courteous in all the services offered.
The food was good and had a reasonable spread. The only area of improvement is activities like camp fire which was all dark area with few people sitting and may be can add more activities for such a beautifully located resort.
However, be it is hospitality or any help we requested for, we had more than 1 person available to serve us. Highly recommended property.
