Cheap and cheerless
on Dec 19, 2017
Initially difficult to find as on a retail park near to cinema and fast food outlets. Not very well lit and a two tiered portocabin. Greeted by lovely staff who were very helpful. Very makeshift bedroom with little room at the end of the beds. Wardrobe is a few hangers on a rack. Tea and coffee in the room. Basic bathroom with tiny shower which makes not standing under the shower head quite difficult. Lots of builders staying which would suggest a stop gap type of accommodation. Didn’t really feel like a hotel, more somewhere to lay your head.
Over priced hostel accommodation
on Dec 12, 2017
Imagine a warehouse, with space divided by partitions. Painted and poorly decorated. The room is small, kettle is temperamental, have to wiggle lead to work. Tv is stuck on one volume level. Picture is poor. One plug socket in room. Heater ok. Bed was passable. Parking no problem.
This is the first and last time I will stay at any Hub. I am a regular traveller and this is over priced uncomfortable accommodation that I will not be recommending.
John Bishop stop over
on Nov 23, 2017
We was going to see John Bishop at the showground. Arrived at the hotel and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms have been redecorated. Strong smell of toilet duck when we entered the room. Saw the show and returned to our room. OMG the smell. Mould and onion smell. Nasty. We had to hold our breath to use the bathroom. Looking at the onsuite you could see where the mould was seeping into the fresh paint. Will b2ot be back as 50 quid was not value for money. Only reason gave 2 stars was the staff.
A little odd

It just reminded me of a youth hostel when I entered with rows of shower rooms. Tricky to navigate around as you turn a corner and it looks like you're walking where you've just been.
Having said that, staff were really helpful, there's loads of parking, the room was small but perfectly adequate and the shower was excellent.
It has its faults but for a reasonably priced overnight pit stop, it ticked the required boxes.

We wanted something cheap for an overnight stop and this ticked the boxes ... literally boxes!
Basically a load of portacabins bolted together into a maze - it is what it is!
We had booked an en-suite room so had our own bathroom as opposed to using the communal facilities in.
It ticked all the boxes - was spotlessly clean, had hot running water and the door locked and had a security chain. Location is random but there are enough local restaurants within a five minute walk (we didn't brave the food court).
Place was full of business users and combined with the location, was deathly quiet!
May make veterans flashback to corrimecs but perfectly passable.
The 'funny smells' others have complained of - that'll be the cleaning products!!!!
For something a little different - give it a go!
