As an old proverb goes "People will remember how you treat them"

This is the precise reason that this isn't my first visit and this isn't my last visit to the Asia's first luxury hotel. The lalit great eastern for the following--
You are greeted with a hand folded "Namashkar" which resonates from within from each of the family of Lalit and here is the beginning of the "athiti-devo-bhavo"
1.You are escorted,looked after and attended 24x7x365
2.Your request is heard, attended, executed which would defy the spend of light
3.The "Alfresco" is an appetite delight Needless to say the guides steward and captain are there to explain the exquisite spread which is piping hot and laid out in the most precise chronological order.
4.Do spare a minute to have a word with the chef Rajput and chef chatterjee they are the curators of the delicacies which would evoke your taste buds
5.captain sushonto, guddo, stewards saurabh disha are the few to mention, as the list goes endless who serve you the passion
6.The room makers needs a special mention Tathagatho and Deepak they are omnipresent they are always there to attend any of your teething issues.
7. A great initiative by the "Lalit" a contribution towards environmental protection on the principle of reduce and reuse which gives you an option of reuse of lenin and towels. Kuddos to the initiative.
8. The front office personnel Rahul, Dipu, Tatha, Priyanka Jaiswal, Priyanka Gosh, Buddhadeb, Sayni, Saif, Trainee Ajaz Khan and the entire team spells a benchmark in hospitality called as " Personal touch" It speaks of volumes of grooming and training received by each one of them.Over and above the Guest relation Executives such as Ms Mahima Mehta, Ms Anita ensures you are looked after.
9. The ambience, decor, and the positivity which brews in the atmosphere brightens you up.The security system is commendable which ensures your security and safety.
10. Despite having penned down a heartfelt which is full of words I am at loss of words but sure enough if " Kolkatta is City of joy" then "The Lalit Great Eastern is a Place of joy" to stay put if you are in Kolkatta.

Lovely heritage hotel and great location - works going on when I stayed so ask for a quiet room if you're sensitive to noise.
Staff who made an impression - Dipu from concierge, Aghosh from Front Office, and the manager/supervisor of Wilson's - such a colourful personality.

This is the second time that I have stayed at the Lalit Great Eastern Kolkata. I was here a year ago and returned because my experience was excellent. The Lalit Great Eastern Kolkata certainly lives up to its motto of limitless hospitality. The staff at the front desk were gracious, knowledgeable, and helpful with every aspect of my stay. The same is true for the staff of the downstairs restaurant, which offers a beautiful breakfast for guests and a diverse menu from which to select. The rooms are first-rate, incredibly clean, with every amenity. The gym and spa were great, and the massage offered was among the best I have every received. Three persons in particular were especially helpful: Dipu and Anita who greeted me in the lobby and attended to all of my needs, and Agniva, who manages the restaurant. They were there for everything and I am grateful for their assistance. I will certainly be returning in the future.

The ambience was awesome 👍. The stay was comfortable and the rooms were clean and nicely done. The staff at the reception was cordial and warm. The spread over the breakfast was also great and enjoyed it thoroughly.

The hotel has a rich heritage lineage. The Allied military personnel travelling to Burma front stayed here. Surprised to see wonderful restoration work by present owners. Legend Wing is the place to stay. Rooms are large, facilities exceptional, hospitality very good and food par excellence. Hotel is in the City Centre. Strongly recommended.
