My stay at Chalets was Average or below Average. We booked an apartment but they gave us there normal deluxe room. So after arguing somehow we got another room but there bathrooms are really bad I would say. There food is super expensive, expensive than any 5 star hotel and it’s not that good either, and they charged us Rs 275 for just 1 boiled egg who does that ? I would recommend think once before going to this property.
horrible property, rude staff, not worth the money, vacation spoiler
on Apr 29, 2019
we just went there for our anniversary.
all pictures are wrong, the pool is horrible shape, it is not heated as they claim, in fact there is no hot water in shower in washrooms, the staff is the worst of the kind you can imagine, no facility for anything,
we had a fight with them as they gave us dinner package but they wont give us starter in the dinner on all days. the food was prices as a 5 star and the quality was that of crap.
wont suggest anyone to go- they spoiled our special occasion, .
it is way over priced. the property is in horrible state.
Under the deodhars
on Mar 28, 2019
Driving up to the Chalets, it doesn't look very impressive. But once you get inside, it's a different story. We had booked three rooms but the staff suggested we take a three-bedroom apartment instead and it made all the difference. Not only did we have a spacious lobby area where six of us could meet for a drink or dinner, but we also had a beautiful lawn and garden of our own under old, magnificent deodhars. Truly idyllic. The staff were very friendly and helpful, though service was a bit slow. A word of caution: If you sit out on the lawn for a cuppa, beware of the monkeys! They jumped on our table, grabbed the sugar cubes, drank up the milk and were not in the least bothered by us. They were not aggressive, though, so we had a good laugh. But you need to watch your bags and phones when they are around!
Rewind to a secluded log cottage
on Mar 24, 2019
Pretty wooden log cottages bordering a foliage of deodar trees and overlooking the Golf Course, what you love at The Chalets Naldera is the luminous pinewood and the exuberant glass windows bringing the hills alive. The attic spruced up is a world in itself. Floodlit at night the resort creates a magical world. You can take the mountain path out of the resort and hike through the dense woods with the cicadas for company. As you descend, the trail gets narrower. and more dense. And the best part is you can see the surrounding valleys, hills and the floating mist through the glass walls.
Calm and serene Naldhera
on Mar 4, 2019
Stayed at the Chalets Naldhera for 4 nights. Had read mixed reviews of the place; came here fingers crossed. The Chalets is a beautiful property in Naldhera, about an hour's drive from Shimla. While they have some lovely log cottages, we stayed in a studio apartment(read room) that had a tiled floor. The room was spacious and extremely well lit with large bay windows facing South. The housekeeping staff did a great job to keep it clean during our stay. The weather was cold and wet save the last day. The room heater looked inadequate at first glance but worked out quite nicely.
The staff was very warm in their greeting on arrival and offered us the choice of two rooms. We picked one with a verandah to enjoy what little sun we got. Everyone from housekeeping to the restaurant staff were quick to respond to our needs.
The food was good though not exceptional. It was quite expensive with an extra 25% chargeable for room service. Given the quality of the resort and the average price in the hills I still think it was pricey. There was a nice HPTDC guest house and restaurant(the Tee Cafe) 150m away that we went to along with a restaurant at the Hill View hotel. I'd recommend that one sticks to the Indian or Chinese dishes at the Chalets.
Overall this a place I would recommend if you want a clean, comfortable and quiet place to stay. Frankly there were no complaints at all in a 4 night stay and my family enjoyed every bit. The only regret, not being able to use their solar heated pool owing to the weather!
