    My wife and me loved it in, so much so that we are contemplating making it our hideaway anytime we go to Goa. We spent just one day, celebrating our anniversary without the kids and our only regret was that we didn't take the kids! Now, I'd like to dispense with the two drawbacks this place has early on. 1) It is located on the road to Dona Paula, a narrow road that is through the day a bloody mess because there isn't any parking on this street. You still find people who park their cars all over blocking traffic, while they've gone to see the sights. Awful tourists. Also the hotel has limited parking space on their lot, and if it gets crowded, it can be a bit of a problem. 2.) The restaurant while quaint has a very limited menu and if it can get a bit more interesting, that would make this a resort a little slice of paradise. Now for the nicer bits. We were recommended this place by Mark, who knows the best haunts in Goa better than the back of his hand. Turns out its quiet (very important for me), with lovely rooms (room 15 which we were in, opens out onto a garden perched on top of a cliff dropping down into the sea just a few feet below). The rooms have basic amenities, don't expect Hyatt like luxury. And yet its simplicity and functionality help it attain a certain standard of luxury. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are air-conditioned, and you have a simple lounge area just outside your room on the foyer overlooking the sea. The bathrooms could be nicer, the shower tap for cold water in our bathroom did not work. After a shower the entire bath gets wet since there isn't a shower curtain. But at the price we paid, I'm certainly not gonna complain, much! What offsets everything else is the view and its kind of private beachfront area (less than 100 metres in length) which in Goa is a rarity. One tip for the hotel, if you could, then appoint a lifeguard and a couple of cleaners who'd ensure the beach is spotless and safe. Its still nonetheless remarkably cleaner than most other beaches in Goa. When the tide comes in, the waves lick the boundary wall of the resort making it one of the most surreal experiences you could get anywhere in Goa. The swimming pool is lovely with a fantastic view of the sea. And the lawns are expansive, large and perfect for a holiday with the family (kids will find ample space to run around). The staff is very helpful, we've had nothing to worry about on our little holiday. And don't bother about wifi and connectivity too much, both of which are a bit sketchy. This is a place to unwind, so do just that. Overall O'Pescador simply blew us away because of the peace and quiet and its stunning views. Not many people seem to know about this place and its best left the way it is, a hidden gem tucked in a corner of Goa.... More

    Our experience at the O'Pescador was excellent. It had a good location , peaceful and lovely view. All the staff were very helpful at all times . The daily cleaning service was excellent and the room, bathroom, linen were clean. It was a perfect stay for us . The WiFi worked most of the time but the signal was weak at times The breakfast and meal menus were fine but could vary more .... More

    Can't recommend this place enough. Excellent room and service, and the restaurant serves brilliant food. So they don't do fast food. Good! Superb view from the balcony. Lovely pool. What's not to like?... More

    The perfect Goan getaway

    We had an absolutely wonderful stay at O Pescador. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, helping us with all our needs! We had a beautiful bay/pool view room with a small balcony that was great for working. The local area doesn't have much but it was perfect to get away for a few days and enjoy the semi-private beach. We also like that it is in the middle of Goa so that we could access the rest of the state very easily. The pool was always very clean and great to relax in. We had really good food served by great waiters at the hotel restaurant. It was a very lovely stay and a great introduction to Goa.... More

    The only good thing about the hotel is its view. The rooms are decent but the bathrooms are smelly. The service is indifferent and the food is uninspiring. I had a very unpleasant experience with the management of the hotel. I had booked through booking com and the rent of the room was fairly high touching five thousand with complementary breakfast. However on reaching I found the bathroom had a smell which became worst every time one opened the shower. The refrigerator in the room was leaking. I asked for a change of room. i was told all rooms are booked. The next day I decided to check out as I wasn't happy with either the room or even the meager breakfast that was offered by way of complementary breakfast. To my horror I was told i cannot leave without paying a retention fee for at least one day . I spoke to the concerned person at booking com , she too insisted that i stay one more day or give them a retention fee. I was told my room would be changed. I accepted and shifted to another room which had a better view and the bathroom seemed fine. In the night however the bathroom started emitting a foul smell. However since the room had a lovely view of the sea I decided to stay back and conveyed this to the receptionist, she told me that i could continue to stay in the same room. Later in the evening however i was informed that i would have to shift back to the same room which i had wanted to vacate int he first place. I was absolutely shocked at their duplicity and unethical behaviour. I had come to attend the film festival and had already lost considerable time the previous day in settling the stay and could not afford to spend time looking for another hotel and then moving out. So I decided to stay back in the same room to attend the festival. The whole episode left a bad taste during my entire stay in Goa. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone. in fact the night before i was to leave a wedding took place in the adjoining hotel and they were playing loud music until 10 in the night. it was such a nuisance. Rooms 23 to 25 are adjoining someone's private residence , an unkempt cottage with blue plastic crates lying around. So where the front view is of the sea the back view is rather unsightly . What is more these booking portals they do not care for the guests , their only concern is their business and not the comfort or even grievances of the guests.   11. In case of increase in tariff during the URS period in Ajmer or Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, the customer is liable to pay the difference if the Check-in date falls during those periods.
