Great Hotel in the heart of london
on Dec 23, 2017
Nice looking hotel in the centre of London whilst situated in a quiet cul de sac, staff are friendly and attentive, a special thank you to the staff in the breakfast area they were all extremely friendly and professional. Only half negative was Dukes bar where bizarrely you had to book a table even if you are a guest at the hotel, it felt like they were doing you a favour letting you in. Overall great hotel room not bad for central London, would recommend.
A Superb Lunch!

I took my finance to Dukes for her birthday lunch. The food, service and, ambience were simply superb. All staff members were very welcoming. It really made my fiancée feel special on her special day!
Fabulous Afternoon Tea
on Dec 19, 2017
More than excellent afternoon tea. The room is comfortable and we were made welcome by the fantastic staff, not rushed.
A great selection of hot and cold drinks, teapots refilled. Sandwiches were fresh with great fillings, scones came warm with enough plum jam and clotted cream. The little cakes topped it off with my favourite Clementine and chocolate torte!
I hope to come again soon.
Excellent location, but the hotel needs refurbishment!

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at Dukes Hotel, London.
The hotel is in an excellent location in Central London, with only a few minutes walk to all the attractions and high-end retailers. The hotel has clearly a lot of history surrounding it with Dukes Bar being a very popular destination for the cocktail drinkers. The food and service in the restaurant (GBR) was very good having dined there during breakfast on 2 occasions.
As part of our booking we received an upgrade to a Superior Room (Room 310) and although it looked rather tired, this was clean and well maintained by housekeeping throughout our stay.
We have given an 'average rating' for the following reasons:
(1) The hotel is looking rather tired and in real need of refurbishment particularly on the stairs, hallways and guest rooms. (2) During our stay and after returning from our travels around Central London we wanted to order a pot of tea whilst sitting in the hotel lounge, however, we were advised by reception that this was not possible and suggested we ordered room service in our room! I think that it was this which disappointed us the most during our stay! That a 5 star hotel could not accommodate what was a very simple request!
I'm afraid it's that lack of attention to this very small request that will result in us probably not returning to Dukes Hotel.

I went with some girlfriends for afternoon tea today..What a hidden gem Dukes Hotel is..Its a beautiful building that I suspect was once a house belonging to the upper classes in a byegone era. The tea was served in a drawing room at low coffee tables with beautiful china..We were offered a good selection of teas..The sandwiches and cake selection was just about right..We werent rushed and were offered refills of tea. Oh yes and the glass of bubbles just added to the pleasureable experience.Highly recommended.
