Just a really neat place to stay for a couple of nights

Full of charm if not austere if one likes the retro feel. Two of us were the only guests. Lovely garden with plans afoot to expand the rooms into the old cow shed, minus the cows are of course. Very friendly staff with a standard breakfast served.
Easily walk-able to the centre of town and the nearby Jakku Temple.
Characterful and clean

This is one of the oldest buildings in Manali and it has the charm of old Indian hill station residences. It’s really well maintained with clean modern bathrooms and lovely gardens to sit out in. It’s definitely not a fancy place with antique beds etc but a good, solid space with a lovely working fireplace, clean linens, crockery and decent food. The location was super, not too far from town or old Manali. The staff are friendly and quite helpful too. I would recommend this place to both families ( they have family rooms) and couples.
FANTASTIC LOCATION, BEAUTIFUL VIEWS, WARM SERVICE AND HERITAGE FEEL
on Jul 2, 2019
The location is fantastic as it’s located away from the busy congested Mall Road and towards Old Manali. Everything is walking distance and we walked to old Manali and enjoyed our meals there. We did not eat at the hotel so can’t comment on the food but Ajay at the reception was very warm and kind. My daughter was cycling to Rohtang and arrived early morning, extremely exhausted and they gave her a room instantly without any cribbing about early check in charges etc. they’re a family run place and obviously not a money minded place. The rooms are old and heritage. They have huge room sets for families with 2 room and 3 room sets with beautiful sit outs. The views are phenomenal. They have good 24 hours hot water and place was clean. It gets a bit noisy if there are other guests in the adjoining rooms but if people were more considerate of guests in the other rooms and not be so loud and noisy then it would be better. Unfortunately most people do not appreciate or understand sense of privacy and being soft when in public places. It’s an old wooden house so sounds carry. I hope the owners put up a notice requesting guests to be softer and respect other guests privacy.
I would return to sunshine for sure and thanks for the wonderful stay.
