Moderately priced Hotel with Good food and Courteous Staff

This Hotel is where I have stayed several times. It is a very small property. Very unimpressive reception but staff are well behaved simple people. Rooms are absolutely basic but neat and clean. They serve a good quality food. It has a cute sitting area on the ground floor. Satisfactory enough to sit and have food.
Very convenient location to reach any of the important places in Kolkata. getting cab here is never a problem. Sealdah Railway station would be barely a few kilometers. Airport is far but because of the connectivity it is never a problem.
Hotel shut the main gate at I think at 10:30. one needs to ring the calling bell, security comes and open it from inside. so unlike any hotel, this place has more home like feel.

The hotel is simple in terms of facilities but clean with friendly and helpful staff. I have stayed here several times over the years when passing through Kolkata and it has always been a good place to rest my head and catch up on emails etc. For me, the location is very handy.
Exceptionally well located business hotel

Good place to stay over for business trips and short family stays. Extremely centrally located, good service, great in house restaurant with a sumptuous fare at a value for money price tag. Overall an above satisfactory experience.

I visited Kolkata with some friends and we stayed for over a week at The Sunrise Inn. The staff were very friendly and we enjoyed our time there. The 'Dine at 9' Restaurant was excellent for evening meals - good food with very generous portions. We could order tea without sugar when needed - the service was always prompt and polite. There was some street noise at night due to the end of October Puja parades down the main road, but I slept well. I did not have any problems with noisy guests. I did have a problem getting Wifi, which meant taking my laptop to Reception or sitting in the stairwell - but that was the only niggle I had. I will stay there again if I go to Kolkata.

My quiet room was next door to a double room shared by ten Indians who were very drunk. The manager, a less honest type of Del Boy. There was none. Credit card and WI Fi facilities were not available despite being advertised. The noisiest hotel in the noisiest city I have ever visited. Do not go without earplugs and a gas mask.
