Pathetic staff !

One of the worst staff and unprofessional hotels I have ever come across. We contacted Mr. Kunal Mehta in hotel Suba star Ahmedabad for banquet booking for a gathering of 30 people for 22nd April 2018.he confirmed availability, gave us the menu to choose from and fixed on the rates on 24th Mar’18 at 12:30pm. We exchanged contact details and told him we will come back to him with final menu and that our booking for 22nd is confirmed. He didn’t ask for any advance and asked us to visit the next day and meet Mr. Pinod. We reached Suba today,25th Mar’18 at 7:00 pm and met Mr. Pinod who neither greeted us nor his demeanor was warm. On listening to the booking confirmation for 22nd April , he said he knows about the booking, however, some online booking for the banquet has happened which both him and Kunal did not check while taking our booking and now the banquets is not available for 22nd April. In saying so, he did not use the word Sorry anywhere and was extremely cold and unempathetic about the fact that we had planned a baby shower and basis their confirmation have booked everything else around it, in place he rudely offered us the restaurant space telling us to take it or leave it. First and foremost none of your staff bothered checking the availability online before giving us the false confirmation and on top of it when they realized it later they didn’t even bother making a call to us and apologize, rather when we visited they insulted us like this.This is not expected of a professionally run chain of the repute of Suba. Your loss for sure is some one else’s gain, we found a much better maintained Page one banquet nearby and booked the same today itself which is relatively new place but is run by courteous, professional people. Extremely disappointed and looking at shutting even the corporate tie up that we have with Suba. Looking at how you have trained your staff, doubt this complaint would even be dealt with seriously. But the incident is such a shame Suba!
Location is good but room was not clean

Location is good but it is not value for money. Room was with bad smell and discomfort due to the same. Some better hotel may available in same locality with this price tag. Food quality and service was nice.

Our check-in formalities were completed fairly well, may be because the General Manager of the Hotel was present during the process.
The room was moderately spacious.
But the service at the restaurant was very poor. That was the case with the room service also. Both were grossly inefficient.
Better than it initially looks

Oitside view is deceptive, hotel is better than that. Rooms are pretty decent with good facilities at its price point. Breakfast is decent but restaurant food quality can improve. Location is good in a somewhat busy area, parking options are very limited.

The room is ok but front desk staff was discourteous. No hot water, average breakfast, poor toiletries. Hotel charges service charges over and above GST, which was refunded after protest . There is little value for money.
