Best Destination for Nature Lover
on Oct 31, 2017
I booked their package for 3 nights and 4 days from 15 October to 18 October. It was a memorable stay there.
I was bit doubtful about the hotel n services but talking to the Owner Mr. Sarabjeet and his assurance about the quality and service of the hotel convinced me to book the package.
Very nice gesture from Mr. Thakur (Hotel Manager) was quite welcoming when I got a call from him one day before reaching there assuring about my nice journey and pickup from Manali Bus Stand.
About the Hotel, it is almost 4 km away from main road to Mall Road. It takes you 10-15 minutes to reach there. But after getting there, you will really appreciate the beauty of the whole Property “Sojourn Cottage”.
We booked Boutique Suite. But due to some renovation they upgraded my package in Cottage 2. The cottage was very beautifully decorated with flowers, plants and simple things in a very elegant way. There were three rooms, one dining hall, kitchen and balcony. Interiors were quite eye catching. My daughter also enjoyed this place because she got swings, toys (Specially wooden trucks and tractor) to play. Rooms were quite neat and clean.
We got our cook I would say our chef ‘Raju’. He is really a good cook. Whatever he cooked for us it was like “Yummyyy”. He was always carrying a smile on his face.
The Best thing I like about them was; after reaching to any hotel first thing they ask for the remaining amount of the package that we have booked, but things were different here. Till I checked out they didn’t ask for the money.
They welcomed us with a very beautifully decorated room for our “Anniversary Celebration” and bade us goodbye on last night of our stay on “Tree House” decorated with balloons, candles and music.
They have got ‘Game House’ and Library too, which made our stay quite memorable. The whole property is full of greenery. Lots of fruits tree.
The hotel is away from hustle and bustle of the city. So, I could enjoy the beauty of nature. In morning, sound of water flow of river Beas is quite soothing.
Overall experience was very good. If I ever come to Manali, I would love to stay in Sojourn Cottage only.

I am bit late in writing this review ...visited Sojurn in Manali in Nov 2016 but the experience was such that it always feels as fresh as y'day.
it was our second trip to Manali and we selected Sojourn for the fact that it looked beautiful in pictures and the cottages and apartments seems in sync with beauty of Manali. And we were not disappointed . Sojurn matched every bit of our expectations for the whole duration of our stay.
We were based in a lovely two bedroom apartment, good in size and colors , offered colorful valley views of the mountains and looked after by two good professionals - they cooked some delicious food and provide us with every service we required during our stay there. The rooms were spacious , clean, and comfortable. we had lovely sunrise view from the comfort of our room and that was a lovely experience.
Sojurn as a porperty is perched on a hilltop and its surroundings are beautiful , one can venture within property and may not feel the need to go out.As we had already seen enough of Manali, we made most of our time relaxing within the property and it was worthy. we were treated with an impressive barbecue , on a wonderful moonlit evening. This was somthing we really enjoyed..sitting on the side of the hills , watching manali at night , with bonfire on a chilly evening.
Though Manali has loads of options , Sojurn does provide a distinct feel and vibe which is refreshing. though it scores on pretty much every aspect , we just had one bit issue about the lights in the rooms , they were very dim...that took a bit of the charm out of the otherwise perfect property.
good property , well recommended.
Excellent property with few areas of improvement

LOCATION - Worth a Million bucks!! What a view! The only sound you'll hear at night is the sound of water streams flowing nearby and the Beas river down below. I agree Manali is very scenic hence once can find many resorts which provide good views of mountains, but this one is special because its around 500 feet higher than the hotels next to Beas River, hence view is much more panoramic. Also, they have lots of Apple, Plum trees within their campus, hence you'll get to pluck and eat fresh apples if you go in July/August!
HOSPITALITY - The owner Mr.Sarabjit Singh was kind enough to suggest cab operator who works closely with him so we didn't have to search for reliable cab at reasonable rates. He also guided us on good place to eat lunch (Hotel Panchwati which is just after Bilaspur town), helped plan sightseeing and shopping options on Mall Road. The hotel is managed by Mr. Todar Thakur and his assistant Raju who took very good care of us. They also arranged bonfire specially for us on one of the days. So, a big 'THUMBS UP'.
FOOD - Upon arriving in our "Apartment 2" in Sojourn at 7pm, we were given delicious sandwiches, pakoda and tea, followed by nice dinner, and even better breakfasts (Aloo and Gobi Parathas). The USP is that they make what you want - unlike hotels where you eat what they make. There was barbeque on Day 2 evening and Day 3 lunch was sponsored by them at Hotel Sher-e-Punjab on Mall Road. Also, we got a complimentary cake and bottle of "Apple Wine", so food is a "BIG THUMBS UP".
ACCOMMODATION - As we were getting settled on Day 1, electricity in our apartment went off. Thankfully the cottage above our apartment was vacant and we shifted there temporarily - I can't imagine what we would've done if the whole resort was fully booked. Also, thankfully, the issue was fixed next day so we shifted back to our rooms. The rooms are well furnished, bed is comfortable, and overall "very good'. However, the USP is the "HUGE" balcony which is not found in many hotels - this balcony helps breathe the fresh mountain air, sit and sip tea, etc.
HYGIENE - This is what I think "area of improvement". We found the toilets/commodes in both our apartment and the cottage above to be fairly old and not-so-clean. Thankfully they cleaned it up as soon as soon as we raised concern. However, I think its high time they replaced it with new units to avoid any similar experience with other guests. Also, there is no shower next to the commode and the unit attached to the closet seat sprays water in a direction which is not suitable for its purpose.
All in all, very very good experience which will remain in our memory for long time to come.
Fantastic Property, View and Service

We booked Boutique Suite for three nights. Booking process and communication with Mr. Singh was excellent and he provided us directions well to reach the property. On the day of arrival, we were provided with the mobile number of the Manager (Thakur) to coordinate. Our Suite was larger than expected and had a garden attached. There were a few minor housekeeping issues which Thakur and his team not only resolved promptly but also offered us an upgrade to a larger apartment (which we politely refused as we really liked the lawn attached to our suite). Property was fantastic, views were breathtaking and staff was absolutely fabulous and eager to please. Oh..I must add that Manu was an excellent cook and cooked for us whatever we wanted....Location of the property is about 4km from the main road but we liked it as it is a bit away from the city and our preference was to be away from the mad crowds of the hill station. We recommend it highly to anyone visiting Manali.
