I had been to this place on 1st week of December. Rooms are nice and well maintained. When i inquired about this cottage, they were not ready to reduce the price saying that they provide good & tasty food compared to other cottages. But We were disappointed with the food as it is not spicy and tasty ( even after informing) . They gave complementary room decoration for one night, but it was plastic flower decoration .overall cottage haven't reached our expectation.

Went with the reviews but was dissapointed

When i first went through reviews and booked this property i expected a great experience but it started to turn sour when i first called them up 1 day before my check in date after i booked. I called them up multiple times and every-time i was told that the booking was not confirmed and i never got a satisfactory answer in-spite of me booking it and paid it in advance through MMT. Anyways i reached the property and i had to wait for like 15 minutes for someone to show up on the Reception. To my dilemma i wad told that the room was not available and they will have to accommodate me to some other property - I was shocked but since we were tired from a 16 hour long journey i didn't say anything and i agreed. To my surprise we then had to walk 15 minutes towards different property with our bags.
That property was Hidden Heaven cottage and it was good too so i was like okay. Food there was good too and the owner was polite. Next day when we were leaving for the sightseeing i was told by that owner that we will have to check out as he only had room for a day and i was told to go back to silver birch .It was like 10 in the morning. So we moved to Silver Birch. Upon reaching there we were told that the room is not empty yet and we will have to wait 2 hours WOW !
Anyways we left the hotel and came back only in the evening. We were given the Duplex room on the top floor which was huge, clean and good but there was no balcony. We read great reviews regarding food so we decided to have dinner in the hotel itself.
We ordered Dal and Paneer butter masala and It was Pathetic. Paneer was super hard and the consistency of the gravy was close to that of Water. Please Please Please whosoever goes there please do not order Paneer butter masala as these guys have no idea how to make it. Furthermore these people will call at-least 4 times in the day as soon as 2 in the afternoon to know what you would like to eat in the dinner? What? how am i supposed to know what would i like to eat 8 hours in advance?
Overall it was a very bad experience and i would never recommend this property to anyone.
P.S. the only good part was the location of the property and it was peaceful.
They also charge Rs 200 per day for the table fan if you need one.
Nice & homely, and a slice of heaven on earth !

This was my first trip to Kullu-Manali, and I instantly fell in love with the natural beauty and serenity of the place.
We are a family of 6 adults (3 couples) and 3 kids, and were looking for homestay type of stay rather than hotels or resorts, since we are travelling with kids and our retired parents who have dietary restrictions. After a lot of internet search, we freezed silver birch.
I was honestly skeptical abt our choice since there were very less pics of the bunglow online. We booked first floor of the cottage which has a living room, dining space, kitchen, a small patio or sun deck and one bedroom. Dupliex stairs from living room lead to 2 bedrooms on first floor, out of the two, one bedroom is agian dupleix with a small kids room on the top.
All rooms have balconies and massive windows on 3 sides with magnificient views of the mountains. There is also a small lawn or garden in ground floor with table chairs for morning or evening tea.
It was an amazing house, very beautiful, clean and spacious. Kids loved every minute of the stay, lots of space to play and run around.
We took our meals at Silver birch only, breakfast and dinner, we need to pre order an hour or so before. Mr. Ram Singh and team were amazing, friendly and made very yummy food, precisely the way we ordered, and spl food for adults and kids.
We spent most of our time in living room surrounded by beautiful mountain views on all sides, or on sun deck.
The place is enroute and near to Hamta pass, but little away from mall road, apprx. 5kms. But if you are goibg with family, this is a wonderful choice. All taxi rates are union rates, so standard prices which is a good thing, nevertheless as in any tourist place, union or not, they are a bit expensive.
We stayed 4 days, did local tour one day, Solang pass next day, Kull-Manikaran one day, and left on 4thday. We went in first week of May, and were able to see snow in Solang. Rafting at Kullu is a must try. Hot springs in Manali Vashisht temple or in Manikaran are also a unique experience, in Manali local sight seeing Hadimba temple is worth a visit, for its beautiful pine trees and reserved forest view.
Overall we had a lovely trip, highlight being Silverbirch, we will sure visit again !
