    Stayed for three nights here. Owners very warm and welcoming. Our room was in a separate house behind the main house and there were no other guests staying. The room was a bit damp and hadn't been cleaned too well and the sheets didn't seem too clean either. I had to ask for towels as none were provided and we got them promptly. The outside area was nice and we sat outside most evenings. There's no wifi. There's no tea or coffee or food offered here but it's well situated for town and we were out most of the days anyway. Basic and gave us what we needed but a little overpriced.... More

    Mr and Mrs Gopi really made me feel welcome with their home cooking and generous caring spirit. For a budget home stay it is in a great location , the rooms are clean and you feel safe and secure. Mr gopi helped me explore the area , spice gardens , cultural centre etc.... More

    Good guest house, very calm area

    Thekkady isn't a big city, but the Rose Garden is well located anyway. Not far from the bus stand, pretty much in the middle of the city, and in a peaceful area. The room was clean and ok, yet showing evident marks of age. The owner was warm and nice to me. However, the bed wasn't great, and neither were the bed sheets... I used my own pillow because I had no trust in the one provided. Maybe you can ask for a better/newer one.... More

    Damp room and no service

    We booked 2 single rooms at Rs 750 each. When arriving they intended to give us 1 double for Rs 1500. We protested and suddenly 2 single rooms were available. My room was very damp In the bathroom was no sink only toilet and shower. Sathi and her son claimed it was not them how answered to my email booking. .... Better look for another place. ... More

    Way below expectations - Homestay or Lodge?

    We (a family of 5 from Bangalore) had visited this "homestay" on the 3rd of October 2014. I had called up this homestay and confirmed the booking (for 2 rooms) for the 3rd and 4th of October 2 weeks prior to travel. As the check-in date neared I kept getting reminder calls to ensure that we are indeed going to staying there. I was asked to remind/confirm to the owner on the 2nd of Oct that we will be staying there. Inspite of all these reminders and assurances from the owner one of the rooms given to us was way below standard. It had a very foul smell emanating from the roof (where we could see wet patches on the wall). This was the smaller of the rooms. Guess the owner felt guilty and hence from the time we reached there she kept saying that "2 good rooms are getting vacant tomorrow and you can move into those". Our actual rooms (bigger rooms promised to us) were given to some foreign tourists for a substantially higher price. This is quite disappointing cosidering the fact that the room was booked well in advance and the trust element was somehow destroyed by this act by the owner. To add to this a basic thing that you would associate with any homestay is access to kitchen. After all thats what separates it from a hotel or a lodge. But in this case there was no kitchen access and to even get a cup of tea or breakfast in the morning it was a good 10-15 min walk either side of the homestay. I suggest that the homestay word be replaced by the word "Lodge" instead.... More

Overview

Rose Garden Homestay is located just a kilometer from the Kumily town and is set on the outskirts of Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. Offering home-like comforts are the four cozy rooms available within the premises. This homestay in Munnar also has a 24-hours functional and informative front desk to cater to the needs of the guests, a travel desk to suggest and help plan their sightseeing options or book their tickets etc.

Policies
  1. Guest must be over 18 years of age to check-in to this hotel.
  2. As per Government regulations, it is mandatory for all guests above 18 years of age to carry a valid photo identity card & address proof at the time of check-in. Please note that failure to abide by this can result with the hotel denying a check-in. Hotels normally do not provide any refund for such cancellations.
  3. The standard check-in and check-out times are 12 noon. Early check-in or late check-out is subject to hotel availability and may also be chargeable by the hotel. Any early check-in or late check-out request must be directed to and reconfirmed with the hotel directly.
  4. Failure to check-in to the hotel, will attract the full cost of stay or penalty as per the hotel cancellation policy.
  5. Hotels charge a compulsory Gala Dinner Supplement during Christmas, New Year's eve or other special events and festivals like Diwali or Dusshera. These additional charge are not included in the booking amount and will be collected directly at the hotel.
  6. There might be seasonal variation in hotel tariff rates during Peak days, for example URS period in Ajmer or Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, the room tariff differences if any will have to be borne and paid by the customer directly at the hotel, if the booking stay period falls during such dates.
  7. All additional charges other than the room charges and inclusions as mentioned in the booking voucher are to be borne and paid separately during check-out. Please make sure that you are aware of all such charges that may comes as extras. Some of them can be WiFi costs, Mini Bar, Laundry Expenses, Telephone calls, Room Service, Snacks etc.
  8. Some hotels may have policies that do not allow unmarried / unrelated couples or certain foreign nationalities to check-in without the correct documentation. No refund will be applicable in case the hotel denies check-in under such circumstances. If you have any doubts on this, do call us for any assistance
  9. Any changes or booking modifications are subject to availability and charges may apply as per the hotel policies.
Booking Policies

  2. The primary guest must be at least 18 years old to be able to check into this hotel.
  3. The hotel reserves the right of admission. Accommodation can be denied to guests posing as a couple if suitable proof of identification is not presented at check-in. Goomo will not be responsible for any check-in denied by the hotel due to the aforesaid reason.
  4. Child policy apply which may vary from hotel to hotel.
  5. Failure to check into the hotel, will attract no show charges as per Hotel policies.
  6. The total price is inclusive of all applicable taxes. However, it does not include additional personal expenses like telephone charges, meals that aren't a part of your meal plan, any hotel services you use (like laundry and room service) or tips.The hotel will charge you directly for these when you're checking out.
  7. Hotels may charge a mandatory meal surcharge on festive periods e.g. Christmas, New Year's Eve etc. All additional charges (including mandatory meal surcharges) need to be cleared directly at the hotel.
  8. Some hotels may require guest(s) to furnish a valid photographic proof of identity in original at the time of Check-in. Kindly carry the same along with you to avoid any inconvenience. The following documents are recognized for this purpose: Aadhaar Card, Driving Licence, Passport or Election Card.
  9. Note PAN Cards will not be accepted as a valid ID card.
  10. All refund requests must occur within 60 days of hotel check-out. Any refund for checking out early or for no shows will be given at the sole discretion of goomo.com.
  11. In case of increase in tariff during the URS period in Ajmer or Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, the customer is liable to pay the difference if the Check-in date falls during those periods.
  12. Goomo acts purely as an agent to hotels/suppliers, hence Goomo shall not be responsible for issuance of any invoices on hotel room charges.
