We stayed with 2 families during Christmas time 2016. It has wonderful views, especially from the 1st Floor. Rooms are spacious and clean. Since it did not have a hotel like ambiance, we were more at home. The location is great but a bit far from other places. You have to travel 6 kms to reach the main road.
The caretaker and family stays close and the home cooked food which was served was great even though they did not have much options.
Suggestions for Improvement.
Have a menu card so that the people coming in there can know what is available.
Provide a list of nearby places. Have some material printed on the sight seeing nearby.
Real Gods Own country (Munnar) Experience

I have stayed in RG's Whistling Woods Resort on 23rd and 24th of August 2016 with my wife and daughter. The rooms are spacious, neat and clean. The service is good. Food is delicious. The location is wonderful. It is on the top of the hills at the edge of tea garden. The surrounded hills and tea garden looks like a green bowl. Sun rise and sun set views are excellent.Formation of mist in the valley and your balcony in the morning and evening is really wonderful experience. Other side of the Resort is Cardamom plants and tall trees. Walking in the forest with full of mist and birds sound is life time experience
Magnificent scenic view offered

Situated amidst tea plantations on one side, the homestay offers spectacular view of the mountains across the tea gardens. It gets misty and foggy in the evening especially during rains (we visited in mid May) and is scenic. The drive to the stay is also amazingly marvelous. The food was home made and was good, the rooms were well maintained.
Very remote, poor care taking staff, poor food and stinking rooms

We stayed here for our trip to munnar. First of all by great difficulty we found this cottage. Its located 10km inside from the main road. It was rainy season and we reached at night and asked the care taker to provide the dinner. We had tremendous difficulty in making him understand the things we needed like drinking water, plates etc. Care takers can understand only their local language and no English(not even plates, jar etc.) & Hindi. This was always a issue whenever we needed anything from them for the 3 days we stayed there. We had to call the owner of the cottage and then he had to translate it to care taker for us. Pathetic.
Next, as soon as we arrived, and went into the cottage on the ground floor, we saw the ugly, stinking and damped room. Lots of insects(nothing provided to keep insects away.), lizards in the rooms. We wanted to shift to other hotels nearby but as it was very late we couldn't. Finally we sent to see the cottage on 1st floor, that was in better shape comparably. We were 7 people and decided that we all will sleep in the top cottage which is just enough to accommodate 4 people. In between we had cold food(we were all vegetarians) in the cottage provided by the caretakers.
However the location of the cottage is good, but with all the issues it not worth it. There are lots of good cottages around the vicinity and I would suggest them over this on any day.
I would not recommend this place until the owners take some steps to improve things there.
