    Stayed 5 nights in this hotel. Got a nice room at 3rd floor with sea view, and view to the small harbour. And a small balcony. Nice and clean room. Daily cleaning. Excellent breakfast buffet, with hot and cold dishes, cereals etc. Also in the evening the buffet was well assorted. The serving personal was very attentive and friendlly. And the weather was warm and sunny. Would like to come back some time... More

    A disappointment!

    Whilst the hotel is clean and the staff very friendly & helpful, and it seems that the hotel may have been recently refurbished, our stay here was still a disappointment. The food was very poor, often being only luke-warm. The self-service trays were regularly topped up but the quality didn’t seem to improve. Fresh fruit was available for desert, but tinned fruit was also presented most nights – not really 4 Star cuisine! The bedrooms were clean and of an acceptable size, but the bathrooms, especially the shower cubicles were cramped and small – drop the soap and you can’t retrieve it until you open the door! Also, the shower cubicle was too close to the toilet itself making for an uncomfortable experience when answering the call of nature. The hotel is on a very busy and noisy road and there was a building opposite draped in rags from scaffolding whilst construction was going on. The view from the hotel is going to be even more restricted and if you want to see the sea you will need to be on or above the second floor. The only outside seating area is next to the road. There is nowhere to sunbathe at the hotel itself; no outside pool or rooftop terrace. There is an indoor pool and a ‘wellness centre’ if you want to exercise. The hotel is next to Lovran ‘old town’, which will take you about 10 minutes to explore, and opposite a small dock area with local small pleasure craft and fishing boats. (You can book there to be taken for a boat ride to various destinations.) It is a few minutes away from the local bus stop where you can catch a bus that will take you to Opatija (number 32) for (I think we paid)22 Kuna return – less than £3.00 anyway. You can buy a ticket from the tobacconists next to the bus stop. Opatija is a much larger and modern place than Lovran with a wider selection of shops & bars, a long seafront promenade and easier access to the sea. It is connected to Lovran by a long and pleasant walk of approximately 9km, or there is a water taxi service.... More

    I've stayed here few times and I can say this is a nice hotel. Rooms are spacious and big enough, every time I was there the service was great, and cleanliness was also good. Price is reasonable, and I would come to this hotel again. Just one tip: If you stay in the rooms facing the front of the hotel, or the street to be exact, there's a main road passing by so it can be a little noisy (but it wasn't a problem for me).... More
