    Room was dirty. walls are dirty with shoe marks all over. We booked a premium room but since the room was cramped and dirty (408), we asked to see the executive room. We were shown room no. 402 as executive room which surprisingly looked exactly same as 408. We should have believed the many similar reviews that other guests have posted here. Bad decision.     I stayed here for 3 days because of my meeting. Horrible room service. You should not call for food in room because it took more than 1 hr to get just dial and rice even after several reminders. Breakfast is also horrible with very limited choice. I will never recommend anyone to stay here if one has a choice to stay nearby.... More

    Would not recommend this hotel for the following reasons. Stayed for 3 nights and struggled every day with something or the other. 1) Location is not good if you are coming to Kolkata for sightseeing. It is absolutely miles away from the centre of town (Park Street) and even if you manage to get there, you cannot get back as taxis have never heard of this hotel & will not travel so far out of the city. 2) Housekeeping is very poor indeed. You have to chase them up for absolutely everything. Day 1: kettle in the room had a huge crack in it so could not be used. Thought it would be replaced the next day, but wasn’t. Advised reception, then a new one arrived but the old one was not removed. This is common sense. Toilet roll was not replaced. Had to specifically phone and ask again then wait for them to bring more. Empty toilet role tube not removed. Again, common sense, but not done. Day 2: The room was not even cleaned at all. Again, had to ask reception. They then arrived. I specifically asked for towels to be replaced so done but again, broken kettle left behind, drinking glass not replaced, spoon not replaced. Clothes I left in a specific place were moved. They however brought 2 extra soaps? ! Tea bags not replaced either. No attention to simplest of details. Towels are a dirty faded grey, thin and rough like rags. Telephone in the room did not work to even call housekeeping/room service etc. Room service Menu card pages all mixed up, some pages facing one way, some another. I had to rearrange them myself just to be able to make sense of the menu. 3) Breakfasts are terrible. The first day the room in which breakfast was served looked like a last minute makeshift arrangement. Food had no salt/seasoning. Only tea that was served was in an urn and served in polystyrene cups. No coffee as not even separate hot water and milk on offer. This was slightly improved on day 2 with boiled eggs available and we asked for separate tea bags, coffee, milk and hot water. Food choices are there, but not well cooked at all. 4) We requested a driver for the day in accordance with hotel charges which we were happy to pay. The driver had absolutely no idea of the route even to the centre of Kolkata (Park Street), took us 1 hour 45 mins to get there, paid an unnecessary bridge toll twice, he was completely unable to navigate, ask for directions or understand his own GPS or tell us where he was parked for pick up. He was unresponsive to our questions and caused us a huge amount of harassment and stress as we then could not get back from central Kolkata either. On the positive, the front desk staff were kind and helpful and charged us fairly for the huge inconvenience this caused. 5) The restaurant has no atmosphere whatsoever. We went to Arsalan up the road on one night which was excellent and had room service on the other. The chicken tikka we ordered was good. 6) Check in process was quick but overly complex. It was more straightforward and less bureaucratic actually going through immigration to enter India itself from the UK than it was checking into this hotel. There are some positives: A) Rooms are of good size and generally clean. Beds are very comfortable and air con good. Power points could be better placed but this is minor. Rooms have a safe. B) WiFi in the room & reception is good. C) All of the above complaints were fed back to reception staff and they attempted to rectify as soon as possible, as quickly as possible and to the best of their ability which we did appreciate. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay in Kolkata on account of a fantastic tour guide but the hotel was very disappointing. ... More

  4. Failure to check-in to the hotel, will attract the full cost of stay or penalty as per the hotel cancellation policy.
  5. Hotels charge a compulsory Gala Dinner Supplement during Christmas, New Year's eve or other special events and festivals like Diwali or Dusshera. These additional charge are not included in the booking amount and will be collected directly at the hotel.
  6. There might be seasonal variation in hotel tariff rates during Peak days, for example URS period in Ajmer or Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, the room tariff differences if any will have to be borne and paid by the customer directly at the hotel, if the booking stay period falls during such dates.
