An excellent retreat not far from Udaipur airport
on Mar 1, 2017
We went to visit the hotel for lunch to look at the beautiful lake and surrounding countryside - breathtaking.
We were shown the two rooms in the main house which is all the accommodation available until the new hotel opposite is finished.
Based on the luxuriousness of the current rooms, the hotel promises to be spectacular.
The owners are very hospitable and joined us for a very tasty lunch overlooking the lake.
There are many opportunities for walking; bird watching; boating on the lake and treks into the jungle.
A good home stay

We were looking for a hotel near airport and found this homestay. The stay was interesting and the owners were excellent! We visited the nearby place that this couple was developing and this was even more interesting. The new place is little isolated and adjacent to a waterbody where their forefathers used to go for hunting. I hope this is completed now. I wish to go back and stay at the new hotel.
Serenity at Its Best
on Aug 1, 2015
If you want to run away from the hustle bustle of city life.. Need a time off from the daily chores, this is the place to be. So serene, so pretty and with such amazing hosts to greet and guide you, you can't ask for more.
The place is really clean, a heritage haveli types, the host serve amazing yummy-licious home cooked food and have a different activity planned for you everyday. Their knowledge about the areas around and their help to explore the same is commendable.
You want peaceful still water, beach like view you got it around..
You want a mountain breezy view sitting by the rocks .. you got it around..
You want a flavour of the local village life and meet the friendly kids there.. you got it
You want to try your luck spotting some wildlife.. go trekking..
Basically.. this place is the perfect mix of everything you can ask for!!
N to top it all.. If you want to do some social service in terms of afforestation and community development, you can do a little bit of that as well.
Overall, to have an experience of your lifetime, must visit!!!
An Awesome Experience - Kemri Conservation!!
on Mar 20, 2015
Kemri conservation is a 5 days volunteering program to contribute towards conservation of natural resources, bio-diversity surveys, reforestation, fresh water conservation.
Main project site is at Bathera which is a small village near Udaipur (Rajesthan).
Day 1 starts with warm welcome in Rawla Bathera which is a 300 years old Haveli with modern facility where you are lodged for next 5 days. From Day 1 to Day 5, activities like Forest walk, night trails, visit to school, Gram Panchayat, river rafting, tree plantation, bird watching etc keep one engaged enough to be with nature and to see rural life closely. These activities bring good awareness and gives great opportunity to work closely with nature with different sets of people. The entire program is well planned by Mayur and Bhawna Singh (coordinators of the program). Of all the activities, morning and evening walks in forest and river rafting was just an awesome experience. You might catch a glimpse of Leopard if you are lucky enough!!
Food starting from lake side breakfast to dinner in Haveli is just too good with authentic Rajesthani touch to make one feel at home.
The program is very good for nature lovers and I would recommend this a must visit place at least once in lifetime.

Rawla Bathera is a great base to volunteer with the Kemri Conservation Project. The Hotel and the Project are inextricably linked. While the accommodation is basic-plus, there is warm water and great food.
Food by Bhawna is wonderful. Her special touch in the desserts at every meal will ensure you look forward to every meal.
Try making it there in a group of friends and leave with memories of long walks in the mornings and evenings, long silences and tweets of a different kind - far from the hustle and bustle of our cities.
