Wonderful stay in Goa with Rasa
on Jun 26, 2017
From start to finish we had a truly lovely time with Pawan and his Rasa family in Goa.
Before we arrived and throughout the stay Pawan was really accommodating to our needs and personalised everything for us, with such a lovely attention to detail.
The stay was wonderful, the yoga and food was great and we did all the activities we intended to do despite the monsoon rains!
Nothing was too much trouble with Pawan and Sajad always going the extra mile for us. We were looked after so well and had such an unforgettable experience. Thank you.
Would definitely recommend highly to others.
RASA in Kashmir - Yoga, Hiking and so much more....
on Jun 17, 2017
Pawan and his wonderful "Rasa Family" have not only their heavenly retreat on the beach in Goa, but are also the PERFECT hosts for tailor-made holidays in beautiful Kashmir.
I wanted to spend my vacation in Kashmir and combine sightseeing with yoga and hiking there.
Okay - Kashmir is not THE number one yoga destination, and so it took me a while to organize this trip.
Then I got in contact with Pawan, and from our first emails on I knew that HE is the person who will make my trip to Kashmir as wonderful as I could ever have dreamed of.
Pawan planned this week 100 % according to my wishes and everything he organised worked out perfectly fine.
Every evening I got the programme for the next day, and it was always a nice mix of yoga, sightseeing, hiking and of course enjoying the culinary delights of this area.
I was also soooo lucky that Joseph, the yoga teacher of Rasa Goa, happened to be in Kashmir as well.
Joseph is a GREAT teacher, not only for yoga, but also for the philosophy of it.
I learned a lot by listening to him - about yoga, of course, but also about so much more what is really important in life.
Yoga lessions took place either in a mughal (public) garden, on an island on Dal Lake, in the mountains, or "at home" - in the garden.
During this week I stayed at Greenwoods Inn, a lovely homestay, with a wonderful host family, very well located close to Dal Lake and Nishat Garden.
The host-mum is an excellent cook, and so is Pawan, and they shared the cooking part and spoilt me with delicious Kashmiri and Indian dishes.
In fact I was spoilt the whole week, from everyone of the Rasa Family.
Pawan, Sajid, Firdous and Sajad - they all were so kind and attentiv - and took very well care of me, even after my week with Rasa. I felt so much at ease with them and I am very grateful for all their support and kindness.
Srinagar is a bustling city with many jewels to be discovered, and its Mughal Gardens are just beautiful and full of flowers in June.
The lakes in town and the mountains surrounding the city offer many opportunities for relaxation and outdoor activities (hiking, horse back riding, etc).
At all the places we visited I felt perfectly safe and welcome.
Kashmir is a wonderful area to visit and offers so much, especially for outdoor fans.
And Kashmiri people make all they can to provide a memorable stay to all their guests and tourists. (Please VISIT - it´s so well worth it..... )
A big THANK YOU to Pawan and the whole Rasa Family for this unforgettable week with you in beautiful Kashmir- I will be back.....
Incredible stay at Rasa!

Rasa retreat is one of those hidden gems you don't come across often. Our stay was a perfect vacation: fun yoga, beautiful beaches, awesome massages and unbelievable food. The rooms and house itself was so comfortable, the staff was the best and the excursions so much fun! We will definitely remember our week here as one of our favorites, and we recommend this place to anyone with any yoga ability! You will be welcomed and well taken care of. Pawan, Coco and the rest of the Rasa team are simply incredible! Thank you sharing Rasa with us!
A Taste of Paradise

From the very first correspondence I had with Pawan, the host at Rasa Retreat, I could already tell that my stay would be an unforgettable experience. In an exchange of emails, I reserved a room at the retreat for 4 nights at the end of March - with the 4th night being complimentary - and I was sent a questionnaire to complete so that the excursions, daily schedule, and even the food served was tailored to meet my preferences. Living in Dubai, I chose to visit Goa as it's an easy 3 hour direct flight, and Rasa Retreat appealed to me as I was looking for a relaxing and cultural escape, away from the stress of my job.
Upon arriving at the airport (at 4am, might I add), I was greated by Pawan and another member of the Rasa family, who put a shell necklace around my neck and gave me a refreshing bottle of cold water. After a 45 minute drive to the retreat, I settled in for the night in a cosy yet spacious double bedroom with adjoining bathroom, which was stocked with water and snacks that were refilled every day - most notably so, a chocolate on the bedside table with a lovely little message inside the wrapper!
The next days consisted of waking bright and early for a sunrise yoga session with the wonderful Joseph, whose classes are suitable for all abilities (including an absolute beginner like me!) and provide a lovely relaxing start to the day. After yoga it was back to the retreat for a home cooked breakfast (Indian style chai, fruit, toast, and eggs to order) and a little bit of down time before the day's excursion. During my stay I went on a boat trip down the River Sal, visited an authentic spice farm where I met a couple of elephants, and drove up to Cabo de Rama fort to take in the breathtaking view before going down to a beautiful and secluded beach, where our only company was monkeys on the cliffs above and a few stray dogs. Other activities included walks along the local beach, shopping in a nearby town, cooking classes, and ayurveda massage. There are also bikes and a pool you can use during down time.
I felt I had the perfect blend of relaxation and experiencing a new culture during my stay, and this was all thanks to the Rasa team. Pawan, Sajid, Sajad, and Firdous were unwaveringly attentive to our needs both inside and outside of the retreat, always making sure we didn't go hungry or thirsty, with at least one of them accompanying us wherever we went. As a woman in her 20s, this was very reassuring and I didn't feel unsafe for even a second during my stay. Shaka and Shanka cooked us some absolutely amazing meals which counteracted all the yoga and walking we were doing during the day!
I arrived at the airport feeling like I was being welcomed into a big, caring family, and I left the retreat feeling happy to have had such an amazing experience, but sad to be leaving my new "family". I hope to return to Rasa in the future, and I would recommend staying with Pawan and his team to anyone who wants to relax and experience Indian culture, as well as have their every need catered to for a few days.
A truly amazing and unforgettable holiday! Thank you so much, Rasa family!
I thought I had died and gone to heaven Lol!!!

I spent 7 days at Rasa Retreat and I thought I had died and gone to heaven Lol!!!
This was a solo female trip, and I have to say I felt totally safe and knew I was in good hands with Pawan and the Rasa Family … they took good care of me and the other solo females that were there at the same time as me … when we wanted to go to the beach, shopping etc… there was always a Rasa Retreat Family member accompanying me or the other solo females as well …. What an amazing team.
Words cannot express how amazing my stay was.
Pawan thought of everything from fluffy white towels in the massive ensuite to the
Yummie chocolates on my bed side table every night … and a basket full of snacks and plenty of water.
I had just finished a 15 day tour in North Goa and had arranged a driver from Rasa Retreat to pick me up. On arrival at my North Goa Hotel the driver welcomed me with a seashell necklace and a refreshment … lovely touch.
My driver even stopped for me to catch up with a friend in Candolim who I hadn’t seen for 20 years on the way to Rasa Retreat, South Goa.
Pawan and his team think of everything … Chef Shaker and his helpers made the most delicious food, fresh and plenty.
I had the opportunity to do both Sunrise and Sunset Yoga on the beach and that was an amazing experience with both Joseph and Jeez … great yoga teachers.
Activities ranged from a cruise along the river out to the ocean to spotting dolphins, lunch on board.
Spice Farm where the women were spoilt with having flowers placed in their hair, followed by a lovely lunch.
The trip on the back of a motor bike to the Hindu Temple was a highlight for me, followed by a yoga class and a picnic overlooking the stunning valleys!
We also had the opportunity to go to a private beach where we went off the beaten track and trekked down a hill to a beautiful beach and watched the sunset, with drinks and nibbles.
We also had lots of fun in the kitchen … cooking lessons and then we got to eat what we cooked.
Before dinner each night we had a sociable happy hour where we got to spend time with the other guests.
Well, as I said above I thought I had died and gone to heaven … I am definitely coming back here …. What an incredible experience from my amazing room, exploring the culture, getting in and having fun with cooking, quality time alone, beautiful food and of course wonderful new friends …. and I have come home totally relaxed and at peace … Once again “Thank you Pawan and the Rasa Family” for everything.
Love you all
