This is not a hotel with 5* facilities but service and hospitality shown by the host Shakti far exceeds this rating.
We had arrived a day earlier than planned in Jaipur, so stayed at another (more expensive) hotel closer to the city centre. However we much preferred our stay at KP and would not hesitate to stay here again.
Firstly the location is in a very upmarket part of the city but away from the hustle and bustle. A two minute walk leads you to plenty of shops,a hotel bar, wine shop and bakery etc. A ten minute walk in the other direction you will find shopping malls, lots of nice restaurants including fast food joints (subway and pizza hut, should you feel the need for Western junk food).
We had a lovely room, nicely decorated and tastefully furnished. There was a comfortable bed, flat screen TV with English channels, tea making facilities, efficient air con, modern style bathroom with hot shower. Everything was spotlessly clean. We also had a nice large terrace with table and chairs.
Each day we had a lovely breakfast which consisted of cereals, omelette, toast, butter, jam, fresh fruit, tea, coffee, juice plus an Indian choice, freshly made by Shakti's mother.
Shakti, as a host was impeccable. We have travelled for twenty years in India and he is one of the kindest and most generous persons we have every met. He greatly enhanced our stay in Jaipur. On our first evening, he drove us around the local neighbourhood and dropped us off at a restaurant he had recommended (excellent). He would in fact often ask if we wanted a lift anywhere although we preferred walking, and on our last day took us to the train station. His father visited often and we loved talking to this fascinating man and listening to his family history. Shakti at our request arranged an excellent driver for sightseeing (Vijay Singh) who spoke great English and was very entertaining.
In summary, I had researched and selected very carefully our hotel in Jaipur and was thoroughly pleased with our choice.
This the best homestay we had in India!

It just like home for us in India, it made us feel secure and cordial. The owner is a very kind & generous person we ever met in India, he knew everything we need and provided useful information. This stay experience is worth more than it's cost. We will still choose here if we came to Jaipur again!
learn history of a family story

Rampura Kothi, located at safe and tranquil area near city center and hosted by an unbelievably reliable gentleman, remains the best home stay and deserves to value above its price in our not too short memories in India.
With essential household facilities and exquisite furnishings, Rampura Kothi includes spacious 3-floor building and a private garden and, offers intimacy atmosphere that perhaps a house filled with history of a family story comes to your mind whenever you knock the door, which, if we visit Jaipur again, will be knocked without hesitation.
CHUN-HAO AND YA-CHIEH
“A wonderful stay made memorable by Shakti, the young owner- who is still in his early thirties.”

It is a relatively new bed and breakfast still in the process of expanding, run by a young man Shakti- and like all businesses, Shakti is learning as he goes along to improve, by not only accepting suggestions to improve the quality of stay, but accepting deficiencies in service without making excuses and taking corrective measures wherever possible immediately. I have rated the property Excellent, primarily because of Shakti, as he goes out of the way to make your stay not only comfortable but to render all kinds of assistance. It was his approach that so impressed me, that it was easy for me to overlook the few glitches and imperfections here and there- after all nothing is perfect. If you are looking for value for money this is the place. If I visit Jaipur again, I will surely stay here- not for anything else- but for a young man, trying to make it out on his own- with no prior experience in the business of hospitality. The furnishings etc and the room were very basic- tea and coffee were provided in the room together with a television. Clean linen and a functional shower in the attached bathroom- with amazing water pressure added to the comfort of the stay. I have a very difficult diet regime being a grain free vegan- but Shakti went out of the way to meet my dietary requirements. Strongly recommended for budget travelers.
