Stayed for one night, very well appointed room and such a comfortable bed.
We enjoyed our evening meal and breakfast, the low lighting was a nice touch first thing in the morning! The whole experience of visiting Oxford is always a pleasure.
Gorgeous room, with breakfast beside a flowing river
on Dec 23, 2017
A much larger room than I expected, and so beautifully laid out. Wonderful decor, excellent bathroom (including rainhead shower!), and a charming breakfast/pub area, with the river flowing right outside the window. To top it all, the staff were incredibly welcoming, bringing our bags to our room, getting us ice cream after closing time (yes, really!), and they instantly made us feel like we left with new friends. Thank you for a wonderful stay
Better than The Randolph!!

I stayed in The Randolph also this week and whilst it was nice, I found the Head of The River an all round better experience. Quality room with nice touches, friendly staff and a superb breakfast. Well done Fullers!
Lovely, comfortable, great value

Beautiful location, strong wifi, maybe the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in (really), friendly staff, excellent food at the bar downstairs, big TV, complementary food/drink that was top-notch. The room was pretty sound-proof, too, which is great because I'm usually a terrible sleeper. Had a lovely and relaxing time even though I was in town alone on business.
Generally good quality

See comments above. Guests can expect good service, though some of the staff would benefit from a bit more training, and high quality meals, but the rooms are small and no cupboard or shelf space was available for clothes in the rooms we saw.. The book recounting the history of the Fuller, Smith & Turner company is excellent - pity copies aren't made available.
