We Stayed 1 Day December 11,2017.and order 2 rooms no 635 and 637 conecting rooms.the lobby and rooms is very good,clean,looking new,staff and employees are friendly,and i will recomennded to my friends.thank you.
Need some improvements

Here is my review :
1.The lobby is spacious and looking modern and new.
2.We stayed for 1 day : November 18,2017 and ordered 2 rooms.The rooms are clean,modern minimalist style,and quite spacious.
3.The employee are quite helpfull.
4.The breakfast tastes ok.
5.The parking lot is awful,they do not have indoor parking.Since we stayed during an event,the parking is full so we were directed to lower ground parking.Believe me you would not parked there!It took a lot of time and effort to walk from lower ground parking into the hotel!
6.Since the hotel located in a busy street,at least you have to put a security to secure customers' car way out.You only out security in your hotel way in!

Being away from the city center, this hotel gets its own charm by providing good service to its guests. Looking for food is also not difficult because many "angkirang" around the hotel. Clean hotel & full amenities. All employees are friendly, except the employees at the restaurant, due to lack of respect with guests at breakfast time. But I do not regret staying here again, because they have a friendly receptionist. So I will stay again at Platinum Balikpapan. thank you
Poor Service, Not as Expectation

First we were so excited spending our engagement 1st anniversary at this hotel (we are already married a year also for 1 year)
We checked in at 5 p.m. at the hotel. We ordered queen bed room with city view.
And yet the view was the roof of the swimming pool building.
For a while we didn't realize it. But then we felt it.
The room was so hot. The air conditioner was broken.
We called the receptionist and house keeping, they said they would fix it with their engineer team.
Yuhuuu!!! We were there for almost 5 hours but the air conditioner still off.
My husband and I can't sleep and enjoy our time together!
The hotel apologized and said the problem because of the black out of the electricity before broke the air conditioner system.
Their apologizing means nothing for me.
They didn't compensate.
Their service is beyond awful.
The breakfast was also standard.
I will never choose this hotel anymore in further.
P.S. We celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary (a week after) at Swissbelhotel Balikpapan Ocean Square which is so much better!
Perfectly OK ....but.

We spent two nights here and it was a perfectly good experience though lacked the warmth of the other Balikpapan hotel we tried.
It is bright and quite smart but staff appear to be a bit unsure of themselves especially on reception where some speak little English.
It was a clean and bright hotel and breakfast was good. However it lacks homely touches and spaces are large but a bit mall like.
Typical was the swimming pool. A good big pool with plenty of space but a bit of a barren surround in term of plants etc. You also have to access it after a number of incorrect signs on other floors through the lobby, then a restaurant smoking area, down a service corridor and past a defunct restaurant aquarium area and air conditioning units. Unattractive and bizarre. Worse there is no shade and no umbrellas in the pool area rendering unusable in the heat of the day.
So lots to like but could be nicer with more experienced staff and some clever homely design touches is the large open areas.
