    We booked this guest house because it was just across the road from the hospital. The room was clean and the service was excellent. There was plenty of choice for breakfast which was freshly made. We were able to park our car in the road nearby with a permit issued by the guest house. The lady in charge, who did not appear to be the owner, was very helpful and made us feel very welcome.... More

    We stayed here for two night at the end of October, the staff are very friendly and polite,the guesthouse is spotless! The breakfast choice was very varied and it tasted delicious, it was very hot and you could tell fresh produce had been used, we will definitely stay there again if we return to York!... More

    Owner cancelled my booking and kept the money

    Absolutely disgusted with the service received from this B&B. When I was on route to stay here I received a phone call from the owner saying that she was cancelling my room because I was late. After debating with her, she said she didn't allow guests after 7pm (although the website says check-in until 8pm)! I complained to Late Rooms but they were not interested. Looking at the other reviews, it looks like I am not first person this has happened to. Book at your own risk!... More

    Stayed here last year for York Races and came back again this year. Very nice B & B. rooms nice, food very good and found the staff pleasant and helpful. Would stay again. Very good position to walk into York centre. Plenty of places to eat.... More

    Rude owner terrible stay and bad service

    Two days before we arrived for this stay Emma who we assume is the owner phoned and accused us of doing a group booking even though we only booked two rooms which is ok according to booking.com who we used . We went to York to work at a convention . , then we had phone calls and emails telling us we had to cancel one one our rooms because we had made a group booking even though we only booked two rooms , we were basically blackmailed into cancelling one of our rooms , we had to cancel our son and his wife's room , his wife is recovering from and illness and was hoping to spend some time in York to help her recouperation , Emma got her way and we cancelled the room ,she kept the £165 and rented out the room again , I have the emails to back this up of course , her whole thing seemed to be that she was afraid that her other guests would complain about the noise of this " group" , we went to work not to go on a stag or hen do as she inferred , my wife and I are middle aged and stayed at many establishments and never felt so ripped off . Considering her reservations about the noise it was astonishing to have to be in our room with the TV set on low volume because of the sign telling us to keep the TV sound down only to have to listen to the staff arguing loudly late at night . Before we arrived I asked Emma for an apology via email and she ignored it , booking.com expressly told us that it was down to the owners disgression to refund our money ,she decided not to kept out money and re ted the room out again , I have the No Vacancy pictures to prove this , if you decide to disagree with this review Emma I will post the emails to prove I'm not lying , we saw Emma on the last morning and she was exactly what we expected . We were made to feel like we had to prove ourselves just to be allowed to stay. We are truly disgusted... More

  1. Guest must be over 18 years of age to check-in to this hotel.
  2. As per Government regulations, it is mandatory for all guests above 18 years of age to carry a valid photo identity card & address proof at the time of check-in. Please note that failure to abide by this can result with the hotel denying a check-in. Hotels normally do not provide any refund for such cancellations.
  3. The standard check-in and check-out times are 12 noon. Early check-in or late check-out is subject to hotel availability and may also be chargeable by the hotel. Any early check-in or late check-out request must be directed to and reconfirmed with the hotel directly.
  4. Failure to check-in to the hotel, will attract the full cost of stay or penalty as per the hotel cancellation policy.
  5. Hotels charge a compulsory Gala Dinner Supplement during Christmas, New Year's eve or other special events and festivals like Diwali or Dusshera. These additional charge are not included in the booking amount and will be collected directly at the hotel.
  6. There might be seasonal variation in hotel tariff rates during Peak days, for example URS period in Ajmer or Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, the room tariff differences if any will have to be borne and paid by the customer directly at the hotel, if the booking stay period falls during such dates.
  7. All additional charges other than the room charges and inclusions as mentioned in the booking voucher are to be borne and paid separately during check-out. Please make sure that you are aware of all such charges that may comes as extras. Some of them can be WiFi costs, Mini Bar, Laundry Expenses, Telephone calls, Room Service, Snacks etc.
  8. Some hotels may have policies that do not allow unmarried / unrelated couples or certain foreign nationalities to check-in without the correct documentation. No refund will be applicable in case the hotel denies check-in under such circumstances. If you have any doubts on this, do call us for any assistance

Booking Policies

  6. The total price is inclusive of all applicable taxes. However, it does not include additional personal expenses like telephone charges, meals that aren't a part of your meal plan, any hotel services you use (like laundry and room service) or tips.The hotel will charge you directly for these when you're checking out.
  7. Hotels may charge a mandatory meal surcharge on festive periods e.g. Christmas, New Year's Eve etc. All additional charges (including mandatory meal surcharges) need to be cleared directly at the hotel.
  8. Some hotels may require guest(s) to furnish a valid photographic proof of identity in original at the time of Check-in. Kindly carry the same along with you to avoid any inconvenience. The following documents are recognized for this purpose: Aadhaar Card, Driving Licence, Passport or Election Card.
  9. Note PAN Cards will not be accepted as a valid ID card.
  10. All refund requests must occur within 60 days of hotel check-out. Any refund for checking out early or for no shows will be given at the sole discretion of goomo.com.
  11. In case of increase in tariff during the URS period in Ajmer or Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, the customer is liable to pay the difference if the Check-in date falls during those periods.
  12. Goomo acts purely as an agent to hotels/suppliers, hence Goomo shall not be responsible for issuance of any invoices on hotel room charges.
