If you really want to know pune by it’s taste, then please don’t miss being at Poona guest house.
Which would take you through the Puneri cuisine from appetiser to desert, and I am sure you won’t regret it.
Very well maintained, clean.
They serve you an unlimited thali at 150 bucks, in which you can call for food as much as you can have.
Staff is polite and well mannered.
Authentic Maharashtrian thaali
on Dec 28, 2017
After Dagdusheth Ganpati's darshan we looked around for authentic Maharashtrian thaali n someone suggested us this place. The place is walkable distance from the temple but have staircase, we had no regret after having this simple homely touch food only bad thing that their dessert is chargeable n we paid 50 bucks for small katori of basundi😒. Dahi vadas are excellent n we paid for extra as they serve only one small bowl PP in unlimited thaali.
Authentic Marathi Food with great service
on Aug 18, 2017
In the quest to find authentic Marathi Food during our latest trip to India from Seattle - we literally stumbled upon this Gem. The owner manager Sharmila is a great host and made sure we had the opportunity to taste all the speciality dishes like Thalipeet and Misal while we worked our way around the Thali! The place is clean and a great respite from the street traffic and noise. While Pune may boast of all sorts of fusion places - none possibly match the simplicity and authenticity this local joint serves.
Old Pune location hotel : Near to airport
on Jul 31, 2016
This place is close to Pune airport and Pune railwasy station. This place is good specially for Maharashtra food. This is very much cheap in price. There are lots of eating and shopping places near to this place. The room was not very big in size. bathroom was clean. Front office was small but well decorated. Hotel front office staff was very much supportive and friendly. This is well connected to main road of the city.
Typical Maharashtrian set men: As authentic as it can get
on May 30, 2016
Note: I am reviewing only the restaurant by the same name in the same building, not the rooms.
Had a wonderful lunch recently as this famous, celebrated yet simple and very affordable restaurant. It was for us a family outing and as we wanted to taste genuine local food, veterans from the city opined - this would be "the place" for lunch.
Setting is simple, even ordinary looking. On a hot summer afternoon, place is not air conditioned and is a bit warm. Hygiene is excellent and people serving food are eager, friendly and very forthcoming about options, serving and accommodating you through the queues which dot the small waiting room.
You get a good side dish, a starter, rice, chapatis and besides very authentic local curries, a sweet.
Food is sumptuous, served hot and has excellent maharastrian taste to dishes. More often than not those who claim to serve local food in Maharashtra, tend to serve north Indian flavours. but, this place is exceptionally local Marathi food.
