Simply serene and beautiful
on Jun 24, 2016
Maybe I am writing this review very late but its impact is still there. The silence of this place hugs you so tightly that you don't want to do anything else but lye in your room every morning. The view of Beas river from the deck outside the room is a stunner, it made all my morning coffees unforgettable. Aptly located, it is walk-able distance to the mall road yet away from the road and hustle-bustle of the market area. I visited Manali in Jan 2016 for 5 days, since it was off season Honey wasn't around but he made sure that we were taken care off. The room was clean including the big bath area. All the supplies were easily available - hot water, extra quilts, steamer (the weather was freezing and I caught cold). And the best part was the kitchen next to my room on first floor - very well equipped and clean, we cooked almost all our meals there.
(Tip - Don't cook potatoes in a open pan at minus temperatures - it took us 2.5hrs to cook it).
Secluded yet connected, beautiful, and warm people

I went in June 2015, so sorry for writing this review so late. But my coming back and writing even after so long proves a point.
A serene location, snow-peaked mountains in the backdrop, raw apples and bright green trees and the sound of the river gushing down.
Classic and simple rooms. No matter what hour you wake, you can make yourself a cup of tea- they have a small kitchen for just the visitors. An artist as a manager, warm and brilliant youngsters who run the place and a small dhaba ( but, healthy and homely food ) 100m from this cottage.
The people who run this place have almost all the info you'll need to roam around Manali and places surrounding. You can play badminton with them or share stories when you're not busy exploring the town.
The best part is the situation of this cottage. Its walk-able distance from the Manali town area, yet away from the humdrum of the crowd and traffic. It's just half hour away from waterfalls just above the Vashisht Temple and hot springs. (Two places you can visit staying right there.)
Cost is affordable, and facilities brilliant. Don't expect a TV, which is another good thing as I see it.
Also, you will be living in a wooden cottage with wooden steps leading up to the first floor (where the kitchen is located).
Whenever I go back, I'm staying here, and here alone.

Went to Manali in April 3rd week, 2016. Stayed there for 2 nights. I am giving it a 2-star for the view that it offers. Its 1 km away from the mall road on the opposite side of river Beas. Vasistha temple is 1 km away (the approach road to the temple is steep, hence be sure about your trekking/ climbing abilities before going up the hill). The best part about the cottage is the view that it offers. There are a few apple trees (growing up) in front of the cottage. And then the view of the River Beas in the backdrop of snow clad Himalayas!! One more positive is the kitchen upstairs where you can cook a quick meal, provided you want to cook when on a trip. There ends the positive part about the place.
The negatives are as follows:
a) This is a B&B but listed under Speciality Hotels on Tripadvisor. So, there is basically no service available for you.
b) The parking area is around 70-100 m away, so you have to carry your own luggage to the rooms.
c) The rooms are quite basic and there is no room service. If you stay for multiple nights, you have to clean your rooms/ bed linen yourselves
d) There is no hotel nearby (apart from a small dhaba which pre-cooks meals on request). Basically for good food, you have to go the mall road
e) The rooms are full of insects (big spiders to centipedes to fireflies to other insects) as the area in front of the porch is lush green and covered with trees and vegetation. So, you have to be ready to literally sleep in the lap of nature.
Unplanned week at Manali

Though being Honey's friend, we got the arrangement made at short notice.I travelled with 4 other friends , It is a quiet retreat in the hills and found the pace , peaceful calm and amazing a dream come true . The view , the rooms , the service all are excellent . I received the so much care and concern from the staff that I felt I was living among a loving family .i will certainly come back and this time will bring my friends along so that they too can savour the kind hospitality of the management . Keep it up .!
In harmony with nature

Pir panjal is an excellent place to fuse with nature , away from customary hotel rooms. The view from the porch of the room ,snow clad Shivalik mountain and wandering river beas will slowly meld into you.
The tranquility and peace there from bustling environment , is a welcome relief
