    <<Alert>> Police raid in the pretext of security check at a 3 star hotel. Hotel Retreat, Camp Road, Selaiyur, Chennai. With utter disgust im writing my nightmare experience in this Hotel. We were overnighting at this hotel with my family due to personal work. In the middle of the night at around 1:30 am there was a unanymous call on my phone.And, There was loud knock on the door. ((they didn't use the calling bell)) suspected that it mite be the hoteliers. But still we were hesitant to open the door as it was untime. I called back to the number to check whether he was knocking the door and was he a hotel staff. His voice came in a very calm tone inquiring where am I? I just kept asking who are you. There was no reply from the other end. I just felt the knock and the call was disconnected. And called the hotel reception, Asking if there is any emergency,and have they sent any staff to our room cos someone is keeping on knocking the door. And also informed him that we are getting unanymous calls . The receptionist claimed that he ain't aware of any of this situation happening at 4th floor of his hotel. Suspected the situation, I looked into the door lens I saw a police in his uniform wearing proper badge. And observed he took his phone to call and it struck that my phone was ringing. As the whole situation was suspicious, we didn't open the door. Instead my mom who was staying along with me called back to the same number and informed this is not the right time to come for rounds /raid. Moreover we can't open the door just because u r wearing a uniform, and we are checking the situation and will properly confirm the same and then open .He still didn't stop knocking. Meanwhile I tried to reach my relatives for help. But he refused to leave and kept knocking.. It wasn't even a group of policemen,just one person. Then we threatened that only after we get a proper details from the local police station we can open the door ,will contact the nearby police station and call back. that's when he left.. The whole situation was suspicious as to, how he got my number, if it is from the receptionist then y was he totally unaware of the situation? Why didnt the police /hotelier follow the proper protocol ?? Nor the receptionist didn't alert us on the intercom or even come along with him knowing that a family was staying ? Why didn't he reveal the true details when he called @1:30 am? And also after all the hungama, the receptionist or staffs didn't show up at all. Even after the incident why didn't they show up until now. Everything leaves me clueless. I'm just writing this to check whether anyone has been in such situation before . And to add to the above woes, please don't stay in this terrible hotel.... More

    Location is really good and safe. 24*7 security guard. Well connected to the main road and bus stops No doubt it's a nice hotel but needs little maintenance. Room is good. Housekeeping is ok. Bathroom needs some ventilation, Nice place. Clean and cosy. Family room is good enough for a family of four people. There is no restaurant or coffee shop. I guess that will be sorted out when the new block is completed.... More

    Horrible experience. . Really expensive too not worth it.. poor service.. no water supply nothing.. please please dnt book this hotel.. and the flush doesnt work the shower doesnt work .. horrible....... More

    Good hotel with excellent service

    We booked this hotel through Oyo Rooms.We had a very pleasant stay overall. The lady in the reception was very helpful in arranging everything for us. She also helped us in extending our room booking when Oyo denied extending our stay. This is located on the main road accessible very much to Railway Station. You step out of the hotel and is the bus stop. I will prefer this hotel.... More

    Don't trust their booking system

    I booked this hotel for a one night stay through Expedia and I got a confirmation which clearly said that I have the booking and no need to reconfirm. But I checked with the hotel anyway 2 days before my stay and was told that my booking has been cancelled due to oversubscription. My friend who was to stay in the same hotel, booked through Hotels.com and he had the same story - booking cancelled due to oversubscription. We both went to the hotel and made a fuss and we were given a shared room. The room was not great - but we accepted that for what we paid. But we got stinking water from the taps which smelt like the gutter - which was totally unacceptable. The only reason we picked this hotel was that it was close to MCC, but in future I would rather stay at a better place even if it means travelling a bit... More

Booking Policies
  1. The standard check-in time is 12 PM and the standard check-out time is 11 AM. Early check-in or late check-out is strictly subject to availability and may be chargeable by the hotel.Any early check-in or late check-out request must be directed and reconfirmed with the hotel directly.
  2. The primary guest must be at least 18 years old to be able to check into this hotel.
  3. The hotel reserves the right of admission. Accommodation can be denied to guests posing as a couple if suitable proof of identification is not presented at check-in. Goomo will not be responsible for any check-in denied by the hotel due to the aforesaid reason.
  4. Child policy apply which may vary from hotel to hotel.
  5. Failure to check into the hotel, will attract no show charges as per Hotel policies.
  6. The total price is inclusive of all applicable taxes. However, it does not include additional personal expenses like telephone charges, meals that aren't a part of your meal plan, any hotel services you use (like laundry and room service) or tips.The hotel will charge you directly for these when you're checking out.
  7. Hotels may charge a mandatory meal surcharge on festive periods e.g. Christmas, New Year's Eve etc. All additional charges (including mandatory meal surcharges) need to be cleared directly at the hotel.
  8. Some hotels may require guest(s) to furnish a valid photographic proof of identity in original at the time of Check-in. Kindly carry the same along with you to avoid any inconvenience.   11. In case of increase in tariff during the URS period in Ajmer or Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, the customer is liable to pay the difference if the Check-in date falls during those periods.
  12. Goomo acts purely as an agent to hotels/suppliers, hence Goomo shall not be responsible for issuance of any invoices on hotel room charges.
