    Beautiful and tranquil
    on Feb 4, 2019
Location: A 30-40 mins drive gets you here from the airport. The hotel is set back from the beach but there is a restaurant and bar are beachside. Ambience: The entrance is open and airy but a little dark. The staff attentive and courteous. Throughout there are nice touches in the wooden sculptures and paintings. Accommodation: The bedrooms are a good size and the bathrooms well equiped and spacious. The linen crisp and white. The beds confortable. In room mini fridge prices same as the bar. No premium attached to this. One large pool with areas for children. Life guard in duty most of the time. Spa still being built so cannot comment. Same for the gym. Food and drink. Price point reasonable. Beer Rs 90. Meal 300 - 500 for main course. Quality is very good. Menu local and international. We only used the beachside restaurant. Service is efficient. Bar is chilled during the day and early evening a good place to have a sundowner. Food 'off site' is cheaper and there is a selection of restaurants between 0.5 - 2.00 km away. There are taxis outside the gate. There are beach bars for drinks and food within walking distance. I did not try these personally but they seemed to be busy. Overall. This is a charming hotel with smiling pleasant staff. Unfortunately whilst we were here the hotel's expansion program was in full swing. Consequently there was much noise intrusion into the room and around the pool. The spa although not open they have set up a room for massages. I chose not to have because of building noise. There were some wifi issues and the hot water was sporadic. My conversation with the manager suggested that all the building work will be completed by March 2019. The wifi problem is also being addressed. In summary a good value hotel which is unlikely to disappoint. Easy to relax either beachside or poolside. Craft beer (Simba wit) at the bar a revelation. You might also want to try the pomegranate margarita. ... More

    Nestled perfectly in its surroundings
    on Jan 24, 2019
I personally spent a long time pouring over reviews like this one before deciding where to stay as we had never been to Goa. We were very pleased with the result it was worth the effort. We have stayed in plush 5 star resorts - and Goa has its share - but some do feel as if they could be anywhere and do not embrace their local environment- the 4 star Beleza does exactly that. Environmentally aware they have nestled themselves in the trees and the surroundings without destroying them. It is very idyllic- very personal and very fitting. None of the rooms look over the beach although the hotel is on the beach- the rooms have views of the pool, the Paddy fields or the edge of the hotel site. Our sister had the paddy field view from her room - which was lovely we did not have a particular view but were happy with the room. There are two restaurants - the main one by the pool which serves the breakfast and lunch and Nazare which is on the beach front by the beach bar where the seafood BBQ is also cooked on a Sunday. There are three bars- one at each end of the pool and the one by the beach. We liked to spend our time at the hotel at the beach front as well as the pool, unfortunately there are only a dozen beds here so securing them early some days is a task - (not always) not one that I am normally personally happy or comfortable with on holiday. There is security at the beach front gate onto the main beach which is overlooked from the bar sunbeds. Immediately outside the hotel the beach is pretty empty but just a short walk either way brings you to shacks, cafes and sun beds etc. It is nice to laze at the hotel watching the passing cows herded past daily (!) often being bathed in the sea, as well as the many dogs and puppies (!) and other wildlife - birds etc. Speaking of which on a Tuesday at 5.00 there is a guided nature tour of the grounds including the neighbouring owners grounds - conducted by Shiva - a huge personality with an amazing memory- very worth an hour of your time. There is a restaurant called Mickeys a minutes walk from the front of the hotel - well worth a visit. Also Colva at the top of the road is alive at night and has a selection of restaurants - we ate here at “The Garden” - very lovely, well worth at least one visit and so reasonable.!Getting about you would need a taxi - of which there are usually some waiting at the hotel. From here we took a taxi and stayed at Cola beach for a night (see separate review - Blue Lagoon) which is about one hours taxi ride from the hotel. Goa is very rustic and so depending on what you are expecting from a holiday is whether it is for you or not but I would truly recommend Beleza By the beach - thoroughly enjoyed it here. The staff are lovely and friendly. We particularly enjoyed the cocktails made by young Cassius and Savio . After attending a euro bar tenders courses they know how to make 80 cocktails - very well !- we didn’t work our way through them all ! People ask about on going building works on other reviews - it is true yes the Beleza is undergoing an extension so by its nature that is not silent - but we did not find it intrusive at all - definitely not a consideration booking here. Finally my only moan is the bar and food bills - there are two types of local taxes applied and also service- on enquiring I was given to believe this is not shared directly with staff - which puts one in a quandary whether to tip or not as well. I haven’t got an answer for this quandary just noting it. The charges themselves add another 50% to the total- it’s Goa so the cost is not high anyway, but compared to outside where nonsuch charges are levied it does make a difference. Finally Enjoy your stay at The Beleza and your time in Goa. I would definitely return. ... More

    Belezzimo!

What a beautiful boutique property! Ten points to the staff for being so friendly and hospitable. The convenient access to the private beach, exquisite gardens, and poolside paddy bar are just the few feathers in it's hat. We were 4 girlfriends on a week long holiday and had a smashing time. The property is quite large and beautifully laid out so you never get bored (don't miss the evening bands and yummy cocktails) the rooms and bathrooms are very spacious, can't believe this is not a 5 star!!! PS: ask for the paddy facing room option they're awesome and hire a bike if you want to venture out.... More

Second visit, will be a fantastic hotel when completed.

Pro's Lovely pool Great rooms. Nice dinning area for breakfast. Breakfast limited but good quality. Staff helpful. Beech stunning, clean, beach shacks plentiful. Con's Construction work, very disturbing, constant noise and fuel/ solvent smells, far worse than when we were here in April. We were given them impression it was nearly over in April, but based on the amount left to do I would say they have another year to go. Breakfast and the egg station...... The cooks did a great job but the area needs to be organised differently.... Certain clientele didn't understand the concept of waiting their turn to order and believed pushing to the front of the queue and barking orders at the cooks was how to act.... I understand that different cultures behave in different ways but basic manners are universal..... whilst the hotel can't reply on guests and basic manners I suggest they introduce some form on ticket system to stop pushing in which well mannered guests find rude and frustrating and leaves the staff in a difficult position of who to serve first. The hotel will be fantastic when completed but depending on the amount of building work when you visit will directly reflect your enjoyment of this unfinished facility.... More
