Good staff, old property
on Oct 28, 2017
We stayed at this hotel during the Diwali vacation. It is an old property and shows it age, but has been recently renovated to OYO Rooms standards. Check in was very quick and we got a room on the fourth floor (top floor, best views). The lift worked without any problems (I mention it because earlier guests have complained).
Very good staff. Whenever we phoned about a proble with the hot water, shower, WiFi, TV, etc, the repair staff were very prompt. The front desk people are also very helpful, and got us breakfast earlier than usual on our last day.
The hotel is five kilometres from the crowds and traffic jams of Munnar town. Very peaceful, quiet at night.
Well kept gardens, which adjoin tea estates. I've been to places where people are driven long distances and pay money to look at tea gardens.
Breakfast is from 7.45 am to 10 am, and has a good variety, but no fruit. Both tea and coffee are served. The breakfast buffet is vegetarian, but the regular menu is mixed.
Being an old hotel, things malfunction frequently. In 48 hours there, we had problems with the shower controls, the hot water, the Wifi, and the wash basin.
The hotel is outside municipal limits, and does not get piped water. Their boring water is colored and doesn't look clean.
The approach road is in terrible condition and narrow. Those five kilometres take 25 minutes, and are bumpy and somewhat scary. Obviously, this is not the hotel's fault.
Good Location - Average Hotel - Poor Service

A well located hotel in the middle of tea gardens which a good valley view room with an opportunity to enjoy the beauty of nature and Beautiful munnar climate. A very old hotel with wooden finish rooms, bathrooms not up to the standards requires renovation. Poor Service due less no: of staff to cater customer requirements. Average Hotel.
Good hotel, remotely located, needs serous revamp

Located away from the small and relatively crowded town of Munnar, Oak Fields is good if you want to have a quiet time. Being far from the town and major "attractions" you'll need your own transport, though the hotel can arrange for one. Helpful staff at front desk. The furnishing and bathroom fixtures are of good quality, but are dated and in desperate need for a revamp. Had to change rooms due to leaky washroom. The corner room had absolutely stunning view of the valley in front and tea estates. Walls are NOT sound proof!
Good Location but too far from the main city

This hotel is 9-10 kms drive from Munnar city and roads are not so good either. But the hotel is peaceful and clean, the staff is polite, the view from the hotel is amazing. But the service of the hotel needs improvement. Food is not at all good (though I am a north Indian but still food was not upto the mark) apart from that it's a good place to stay.
Good location ... Wasted opportunity

This is quite an old hotel. The view from our room was amazing. Rooms were clean but the hotel overall can be managed better. The restaurant is in a terrible condition. The hotel is inside and needs effort to find and mobile networks don't work well.
