120yrs old hotel

Don't expect anything fancy but it's a different experience to stay in 120 year old place. All green, refreshing morning, 🐦 chirping & fresh basic food.
Only problem is bathrooms aren't that clean, rooms aren't maintained much😷🤬.
Spacious & Airy !

Overall good hotel with average service. It is naturally maintained, no artificiality. Surroundings are spacious and airy , cool breeze in afternoons and evenings in summer too. Soothing & relaxing. When in Pune, this is my definite stay , will not explore other options. If maintenance and service are improved, much better. Rates are reasonable and fixed, so no fear of exploitation.
Experience was excellent

All my colleagues have been staying here. They say it's right location. Absolutely opposite to Pune Station. The property is centrally located and the best part is its a very good budget hotel. The staff is very good and always ready to help. I recommend this hotel for sure.

I spent four nights at the National Hotel which is very conveniently located opposite the railway station. The place looks like a long-forgotten colonial relic that has been frozen in time and at times that seemed true. I stayed in one of the rooms in the single-storey concrete terraced block behind the main building for 800 rupees per night. That gave me a twin room with and a fan and twin beds with very thin mattresses that were presumably discarded from the local prison. The room itself was shabby but clean while the bathroom was shabbier. However, the flat screen tv with a very wide choice of channels made up for the squalor, as I was able to watch an endless choice of live sports action over the weekend. There are restaurants nearby and several very good bakeries. The restaurant allegedly served food but I never saw anyone eating it and was never given information about it. I stayed away from reception as it was regularly occupied by the owner shouting and screaming angrily at his staff and I found out why. On checking out, I was presented with a bill for the remainder of the room tarrif, despite paying in full on arrival. I refused to pay and told them that their staff had lied about how much I had paid and they accepted my word. So, be warned, get a receipt on arrival and don't let them cheat you out of any more money!
