A Decent and neat hotel

Kothagiri is altitude is lesser than Ooty. But the climate is cool and pollution is less. Nahar Retreat is a decent hotel with good facilities. When we visited , they are renovating the hotel and some of the facilities like heater was missing but they have provided a quality Shawls. Rooms were big and with a balcony to the valley having mesmerising and exotic views.
The Hotel is pure vegetarian. They have decent spread of food varieties Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Limited variety, good quality and tasty food were served. Staff and management were cordial and friendly. So if you want a peaceful location , quality food, friendly staff and breath taking scenic location around you...Go for it..Hope the management will look and correct the minor problems exists on completion of renovation.

Went to nahar with my family for a birthday celebration and i can say its a relaxing place. Nice picturesque view of mountains from the rooms and garden. Garden is well decorated with variety of flowers. Its located close to kotagiri town.
The food they serve is veg and it was good. Service was on a slower side and the staff seems untrained.
Price of the rooms is on a higher side.
Overall a nice place to hang out.

Hotel has good view, very veg food and good staff. We have opted for spa, after the spa we waited for hot water more than one hour and we observed that the therapist who did the spa same person was working in the restaurant which was surprising for us. We felt this property is expensive as they don't have summing pool, indoor games etc...
If you are going for sight seeing in kotagiri does not have does not have much options, for sight seeing you travel to ooty which is 45mins drive from kotagiri.
Quiet and peaceful resort

We drove up from Bangalore and stayed the weekend at Nahar. The location is easy to find right at the heart of the city but its still a very quiet and peaceful place.
Frankly I was surprised with the resort probably because I had booked it with no reviews and very little knowledge about it. I found the facilities excellent definitely worth the price The rooms were clean and spacious and that's what surprised me the most as to how spacious and airy the rooms were and unlike most place which has some crappy tv connections we had tata sky over here so it was good to have a proper working TV with all channels except HD in the room.
It had nice big bed very comfortable with a good balcony view of the hills and nice big balcony where you could lounge in the evenings or even have your meals.
The bathroom also big , clean , well maintained and it also has a bath tub.
The service was extremely good where the staff plays dual triple role of waiter/porter/housekeeping but they managed to do everything very nicely.
The restaurant is veg and coming from a hardcore non veg. We got served some really delicious food.
The garden area is well maintained and lot of places to just sit and chill out. and enjoy the great view of the hills.
The only drawback is the entrance because of the new block under construction. but you don't get to hear any of the construction sounds which is good but it just gives you the initial puzzle of will this place be good.
