A Homely Guest House

The guest house is located in a quite sector of salt Lake. The rooms and bathrooms were clean. Blankets need improvement. The The towel supplied was smelly, I had expected better standards. Food is available from inhouse kitchen. No tea kit is supplied in the room, But tea is available from the kitchen. The staff is very helpful and cooperative. Overall a good stay.

My sister and I stayed here for a month as we visited friends and family in Kolkata. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The place is clean, the staff--Bishu, Pratap, Krishna, and Subir--go out of their way to be helpful. The owners, Amitava and Subhra, look out for their guests and ensure that they feel at home, always making sure that people are fed, happy, and healthy. It really was a home away from home. When we returned there after a busy day in the city, we felt nurtured, supported, and welcomed.
I would highly recommend it. The location is great too. Walking distance to City Centre Mall, CA Market, and several good restaurants. The Wifi is free and quite strong. The breakfast (included in the price) is very good. And the lunch and dinner available if one orders in advance is good, simple, home cooked Bengali food, a welcome change from spicy restaurant fare.

After arriving in Kolkata Airport in the Middle of the night & one night in an Overpriced, Dirty Hotel near the Airport ive found this Gem here on Tripadvisor.
After i called them they send me a Private Driver to get me & my stuff.
I stayed one week in this quiet neighborhood of kolkata.
The food was excellent, the People very friendly and the Rooms were clean.
The Owner speaks German what makes it easy for understanding.
Should i ever visit Kolkata again, this will be my Adress for sure.

In the city to attend a wedding, the location of Monorama Guest House was the deciding factor for us as our local hosts were just 2 mins walking distance away in DA block itself. In addition the positive reviews on Tripadvisor helped us feel confident of the place.
There was an initial hitch when my husband called them to reconfirm on the morning of our arrival and was shocked to learn that our booking was not available. To be fair to them, no advance was paid as mutually agreed. However, after keeping us on tenterhooks for the duration of a few hours they sorted out the issue in our favour and all went well.
We stayed for 2 nights in the last week of November and had a pleasant and peaceful stay. The house is situated in a quiet residential area, with a cosy feel to it. The large drawing and dining space on the ground floor is good for getting acquainted with other guests or meeting friends. It has a small, well tended garden and a pet dog called Lucky. I never ventured to the upper floors, so my review is confined to the ground floor areas only.
Our room on the ground floor was very comfortable with it's mirror, study table, wardrobe and other knick knacks, though we never tried the tv. The toilet was clean. The breakfast was simple and fresh, though repetitive. The staff was attentive and helpful.
The Guest House is an ideal choice for it's home like atmosphere, peaceful surrounds and easy reach to all areas of Kolkata.
