Another great night at the Shard

We were overnighting in London and decided to return to the Shard after having stayed there two years ago. We were very early but the staff found us a room immediately. They also gave us late checkout
The Hotel of Smiles!

Stayed for five nights in early Jan. Extremely impressed with the professional attitude of staff- kudos to the management of the hotel - whoever trains them must get an “Oscar award”! Special mention to Vincenzio of reception who made my stay very welcoming especially taking note of my daughter’s birthday and delivering a lovely slice of chocolate cake - so very thoughtful! The breakfast array was generous - they even had Asian selection of congee and pork buns! The congee was splendidly done with condiments - a really nice surprise choice! The scrambled eggs needs more refinement though....
Overall a lovely stay and it’s now on the top of my list for best hotel globally!

It does not matter where you have stayed before or even where you stay in the future, once you stay at the Shangri-La at The Shard, all other hotels seem to be insignificant.
The attention to detail, the warm welcome from the doorman and reception staff, the service which is both elegant and unassuming, the food and drink which are prepared and served with panache.
The hotel itself is simply sublime, the views are simply to die for with wide sweeping, as far as the eye can see spectacular sights that are breathtaking.
Wave at the aeroplanes and police helicopters as they pass by whilst you enjoy a chilled glass of Champagne in the clouds... perfect.

This hotel is ALL about the service they provide to their customers. My stay was lovely but there was a couple hiccups. Upon arrival I was greeted and showed to my room. At my room they showed me all of the features that come with my room. (Please notify your guests that you can see other guests if they have their window open) There was a small note but if I wasn’t looking I wouldn’t have known. They had charged my card in case of any damages. But apparently didn’t charge my card correctly and I had to go down to recharge my card. Inconvenient. After a couple days the hotel personnel did know who I was and didn’t question my stay. But for the first two days they questioned if I was a guest at the hotel. Which I was not pleased about since I am paying a lot of money for my stay. They do offer a car service during the day to drop you off. If you need a private car they are able to assist.
My room was BEAUTIFUL! The view from my room was amazing 24/7. I went to view the room was the bathtub that faced tower bridge. It’s an okay view and also reminder if you pick this room and have the windows open when you are going in the bath people are able to see.
Do not order the afternoon tea to your room it is not worth it! Actually most of the food is not ordering. For a very expensive hotel I would think the food would be above and beyond. Its not. Everything was either mediocre or less. I suggest going over to borough market for food which is only two roads down from the hotel.
The pool was closed for most of my stay which was inconvenient. But I got to enjoy it on my last day. Wish I got to spend more time in the pool.
The bar upstairs was very nice and has a great ambiance. There is a beautiful view of tower bridge at a couple of the tables. The cocktails were ok. I had the homemade perfume one. You have to hold your nose when you drink it since you will be smelling STRONG perfume when you take a sip.
Overall, my stay could have been a lot better especially for what this hotel stands for.
Great location for a classical English afternoon tea

I’ve been to the Ting Restaurant for a classical afternoon tea. I would recommend to book a table in advance to enjoy the lovely view from the 35th level. The food and drinks were delicious. Although it’s not cheap it is definitely worth a visit. Our waitress Shu-Yao was really kind and welcoming. Thank you.
