Rustic, what we were looking for
on Dec 15, 2017
While we only stayed 1 nighty in Arambol, the Lotus Sutra was exactly what we wanted. As opposed to a large hotel, it's actually a bunch of more rustic shacks/huts. We had 2 huts - 1 for us and 1 for our friend. When searching for rooms, we saw they had options for with and without air conditioning. We chose with A/C which cost more but we were OK with that. Our huts also had a bathroom, a tv with enough channels and a closet for storage. The bathroom has a hot water heater for showering but no shower curtain to separate the small shower area from the toilet - again, rustic. They also supplied 2 towels, a bottle of water, a small bar of soap, a small packet of shampoo - no frills. The property is just a few steps from the beach which has lots of shacks for food and drink. When checking in, they have a few bellhops bring your luggage to your hut which is helpful as dragging suitcase across their grass/dirt grounds is probably pretty difficult. Be aware of a bug or 2 in your room as the huts are made of wood and bugs could probably very easily make their way into the hut from outside. Also, not the easiest property to find as the turn off the main street is very small and not super obvious.

Lotus sutra, as the name suggests is inspired by the Buddha theme. There are beautiful Buddha scriptures and sculptures all across the property.
The property is situated bang on Arambol beach, one of the best beaches in Goa. It is clean and has limited crowd compared to other beaches in north Goa.
The beach huts at Lotus Sutra are done up nicely. We had booked the deluxe sea view cottage which has a partial sea view from the sit out area. Here are the pros and cons:
1. Location: you can hit the beach whenever you want to, it is extremely safe during all times and has easy access to the best shacks like laughing buddha, maitri etc.
2. Cleanliness: Being a beach front property it is not easy to maintain the rooms the way they were. The staff is well trained and they make sure that the property is well maintained.
3. The feel: based on the buddha values, this property has an amazing vibe which makes your stay even more relaxing.
1. No mini bar: there needs to be a mini bar facility.
2. Not enough value for money: No complimentary breakfast, no minibar and no other complimentary services to offer for the high tariff.
The management should make sure that they provide value for the tariff charged. Having said this, I am definitely coming back to Lotus Sutra, for the beautiful arambol beach!
Steps away from the beach

This resort had a very rustic log cabin feel! Resort had very unique vegetation and well made individual log huts with a porch where you could sit outside and enjoy the sunset. Enjoyed our stay being 50 steps away from the beach. Food at the resort was very good and service was excellent. Perfect place for young couples who want to explore north Goa and it’s beaches.
Best resort in goa!

I stayed here for 2 days during my visit to Goa and I can tell you thay no other place can be better than this resort. The beach is so close to this resort that it feels like a resort with a private beach.
The restraunt in the resort doesn't have good food options and can be avoided.
The staff or management is not very helpful which is the major drawback for this resort. Still I am giving a 5 Star just for the location of this resort as its so peaceful and private!
Good..! But can be better.

We stayed for 2 nights. Room was clean on day 1. On day 2 we left the key with reception, but they did not cleaned the room. Complimentary tea/coffee sachet and water bottles were not refilled. Food was nice but slightly overpriced as compared to nearby shacks.
