Pawna Lake : One Day Trip with friends
on Apr 23, 2019
We have planned our one day trip to pawna lake in the month of October 2018 which is probably the ideal time as the best time to vist pawna lake is between August to October And December is ideal for camping. Out destination included :-
1. Baja Caves Ancient Buddhist Heritage &
2. Pawna Lake (via Lohagadh Fort)
the road from lohagadh to pawna lake is quite dangerous and requires skilled and calm driver and it requires small hatched back cars on that steepy + narrow turns + loose traction between tires and road due to small grains of pebbels.
I will advice to choose the old Mumbai-Pune highway for your route from Mumbai as it has most sceneries around it and numerous spots to take a scenic break in your journey to get relaxing views whereas the New MUMBAI PUNE highway is speedy tough but it has no views at all but it saves your time from traffic jams. So the choice is yours for speedy route or slow but scenic views.
If you are planning directly going for pawna lake not via baja caves and lohagad fort from Mumbai then at the spit of the road (one road to pawna lake and other one to lohagadh) leading towards to pawna lake right after Dianorours park their is one narrow valley which is absolutely scenic for road trip and i have uploaded it's photo along with pawna lake, just look at it.

Best place for camping in Lonavala. Very peaceful surroundings. Food & Service is great at the place. Will recommend people to visit this place in winter time as the climate is nice. Tents looks amazing in the evening

Went there on weekend for camping , campings arrangements were good, nice spacious tents, just next to pawna lake. They also arranged for campfire and barbeque. Early morning view of lake was great.
Food is good.
Only issue was washrooms.Common washrooms were not clean so we had to take seperate room to stay so that we can use private washroom in that room.
And one more thing, take the drinking water bottles included in your package at the time of check in only because they don't give it on next day.
Overall camping experience was good. Sunset n sunrise not to miss.
Perfect time to visit in April in the evening
on Apr 30, 2018
Perfect time to visit in April in the evening with water level low enough to walk on the lake's dry floor with the small island within reach by foot. There is no boating and the peacock has vanished, but now ducks, geese, hare / rabbits, love birds in a cage. The restaurant has been cleaned and is more roomier. The surprise was a dozen tents on the dry lake bed and bonfire work. And the trip of an hour from Lonavala was really worth it this time with people playing in the water and a lot of stones for our son to throw in the water. We could walk all around the island and also the beeze at sunset was very pleasant. No biscuits or chocolates at the restaurant, but the fried snacks, cold drink, sandwiches are good.
Scenic & Strategically Located Restaurant at Pawana Lake
on Feb 2, 2018
This review is of the Lohagad Restaurant at Pawana Lake where you can have a Decent Meal & it is certainly worth visiting. The entire area has been very nicely landscaped with plants & some artifacts that makes it an interesting place to spend time at. There are also plenty of photo opportunities here. They have a few Ducks & a Peacock as well and there are two lovely Horses outside at the Parking Area too. It is located just off the main Pawana-Lonavala Road & adequate Parking is available. There is an entrance fee to be paid now which is adjusted against the restaurant bill, which is good, as it keeps unwanted elements away. The Restaurant is basic, but clean & has decent seating capacity. Wash Basins and Toilets are also available, which is a good thing. You get a very good view of the beautiful Pawana Lake from here & you can also go down to the Lake and enjoy. Boating facilities have been temporarily stopped, otherwise you can also enjoy a nice boat ride in the lake. The restaurant has a fairly large menu offering a good spread of Veg & Non Veg items, including Seafood. All items are freshly prepared & tasty, as they are made with local spices. A must visit place for lunch whenever you visit Pawana Lake.
