Claiming Heritage without providing it
on Dec 30, 2019
The LMB maybe was maybe sometime in the past a hotel with class and standards, but surely has fallen from grace as of today. The breakfast was extremely overpriced, the rooms where absolutely basic, old, with an uncomfortable bed and out of date linens, and without any amenities or appliances. The service was slow (we asked for an additional blanket and it took them over an hour and 3 calls to bring them from the storage room 10m from our room), and reception was not very friendly. The WiFi also did not work in our room or other places in the hotel.
They claim "great Indian hospitality" but don't show it. For example, the doorman blocked the door when we tried to enter to the hotel, because they thought we wanted go to the sweets shop next door. Never ever have I been blocked and questioned at entering in a hotel I paid for. Speaking of price, with breakfast, the price was 6900rs for 2 nights. We had room for 1000rs which were nicer, bigger and in a true heritage setting.
We stayed in many other guesthouses in india that were much much cheaper and a much more pleasant experience.
Only good thing about the place is the location. The owner should refurbish the whole hotel and embrace a more hospitable culture. Would not recommend.
Iconic Hotel at central location
on Dec 30, 2019
Our first visit to Jaipur as tourists, so we chose to stay at a Jaipur icon and a landmark in itself.
The hotel has an excellent location in Johri Bazaar, with most of the major tourist attractions, like hawa mahal, jantar mantar, city palace, Albert museum, and traditional Rajasthani shopping within a few kilometers radius.
Sadly, other than the location, and the courteous staff, there was nothing about the hotel that would want us to go back to stay there again. The food, of a quality that can easily be matched or bettered by Halidiram, Bikanerwala, or even a local Gurgaon sweet shop like Sham Sweets, was outrageously overpriced. The rooms, charged at 3-star rates, though clean, were very ordinary and lacked even basic complimentary amenities like in-room tea-coffee making service. The walls were thin enough for the sounds of people talking in the adjoining Room to be a real cause for disturbance.
Would definitely look for alternate better options if wanting to go there again.
Wonderful stay in Jaipur.

Nice place for family holidaying in Jaipur. Highly recommended for veggies.. variety of sweets and snacks. staff is very well mannered. Major sight seeing places nearby. excellent places for shopping at walking distance. You need to be good at bargaining. while ordering food, you can customise...

Very good hotel with great location - just on the main road of the Pink City! Friendly staff, clean rooms, good prices! Everything was good. Reccomend this hotel to everyone who wants to be in the heart of Jaipur.

Went here for a lunch following a recommendation from a friend who used to visit with his grandfather over 30yrs ago
We wasn’t disappointed!
The service and the food were excellent and bill only £30 for four people-eat with the locals they say-perfect!
