Rooms are clean and value for money. Got an AC room for Rs 1000. Located at walking distance to Velankanni church. Hotel has an in-house restaurant serving just ok food. However the overall stay was fine.

Except for the location of the property Every thing is to the terrible sorry story.
We arrived at the reception @ 2PM and they told us to wait for 10 mins, after ten minutes [while the reception was empty with no guests] I approached ans asked for the status of the check-in.
Receptionist was Rude, hostile guy, he says you have arrived late and the room is being prepared. The check-in time of the room was 12 PM and I asked if we have booked, U are expected to prepare the room well set before arrival.
Finally they gave us the key after some wait time.
When we approached the room, It was still under cleaning.
NO WATER BOTTLES & NO CLEAN TOWELS provided. Glad that we took our own.
Definitely a NO - NO.
Parking space are cramped and when we ask if there are any free spots to park to the security guard, the answer was, I DONT KNOW.
Lot of construction is happening. Room is not worthy for the money paid.
PS: IF you are planning to use the complimentary wi-fi then you need to go to the reception. There wont be any service @ room.
Only if you have NO options

I had a very vague memory of this hotel from my childhood visit to Velankanni. The memory was bitter though; I was bitten by bed bugs all night and I barely slept. Things have changed on that front though. I found no bed bugs this time, just a dirty place overall and an unruly staff.
We were group of 6 and we had made our bookings over call directly with the hotel over a month before the planned date. We had confirmed our arrival with them more than twice before we reached and had even asked whether they would need any kind of advance to confirm our booking. The staff we spoke to clearly told us that there would no need to give advance and that our booking was confirmed.
On reaching there, however, the reception guys decided to sing a different song. We were told that no booking was made as we had not paid any advance. After a long shouting match, they offered us rooms at a much higher price than what was negotiated over the phone initially. It required only common sense to understand their money making tactics. They may be located close to a holy shrine, but their intentions are in no way holy.
We had to agree as we had travelled a long way to reach the hotel and there were no other rooms available as it was a long weekend. The rooms are priced at par with any good hotel in a metropolitan city, however, the service and the hygiene are worse than a lodge. Their restaurant, that is run by a third party vendor, is filthy to say the least. If you want to kill your appetite or aspire to fall sick, please eat here. The breakfast was complimentary but that is not something unreasonable to expect that charges so much.
We went for an AC room but they do not provide the remote so even if you freeze to death in the night, you will have bear it. The pillows are crying out for retirement. They are yellow and dirty. The less we talk about the blankets, the better. I had to wipe the entire commode with sanitiser and pour hot water all over the place before using the washroom.
I will not recommend this place to anyone. The only positive is that it is at walking distance from the main church unlike other resorts. But considering all the other pain points, this hardly seems like an advantage.
My advice to the management is to look beyond money. The only reason why many people stay here is because it is near to the church. You have no other advantages worth talking about. The day this advantage goes, that day you are doomed.
