    Worst Hostel we've stayed at!

    Firstly if you advertise breakfast as included it should be included! We were offered no breakfast at all and the staff were in fact still sleeping (in a little corner outside our room!!) when we made our way to the kitchen/check in/eating area! We booked the superior double room which has absolutely nothing special about it. We were given one towel, a rock hard pillow and slept on a bed basically on the floor. The shower was either completely cold or completely hot. The location is terrible and no where near any tourist places or restaurants. You will have to take transport anywhere you want to go. We decided to leave for other accommodation and were still forced to pay for the inadequate accommodation as you are forced to pay on arrival. Highly do not recommend this place. ... More

    We had a very unpleasant stay at this hostel. It says that breakfast is included however we came down in the morning only to be told that they will not serve us breakfast!!! We then asked if they could give us back some of the money as we had paid for the breakfast and they rudely refused. Barely any hot water for showering and very unaccomadating staff.     Le Pension is a cute hostel in a nice quiet location. Though it is pretty far from the temples and such, we never had a problem with this and preferred the nice neighborhood to a closer location. The staff seemed to do their best to be helpful, they would come to our room and offer cleaning etc. However, they seem to need some training in consumer service. We were told that breakfast would be served around 8-8:30, on our first morning we went down at 8, however the staff was still sleeping. We went back down at 8:30 and they were still in bed, but awake so we asked for breakfast. It took a further 45 minutes for the food which was delicious! The next morning we decided to go run some errands in the morning since the staff seemed to like to sleep in, we got back around 9, everyone was up, we asked for breakfast and were told there was no breakfast today. No keep in mind that there are no restaurants that open before 10 in that area and my husband and I are very early risers so we had already been up and hungry for quite some time. We decided to go to the store and buy food so that we could make our own breakfast from then on. The next morning we went down around 7, we had been cooking for about 20 minutes when a woman came in to clean, she seemed very flustered that we were in there. We were confused as we have never been in a hostel where you could not enter the kitchen etc. However we finished cooking and continued our day. The following morning we were experiencing some dehli belly :( so we had a little bit of a later start. We went down around 8 I think. We started cooking and were in the middle of it when one of the staff members came in and moved all our cooling stuff off of the counter and into our hands. He then proceeded to take over the entire counter and cook. He also moved my pan onto a different burner without asking us. Now obviously it is completely normal to share a kitchen in a hostel and I have no problem with it, however what he was doing was not sharing but shoving us to the side. Besides the fact that he was a staff member not a guest, which means that his actions are inappropriate and inexcusable. Following this we checked out early. I would like to say that it was not all bad there. The room was great! And the hostel itself was very clean and nice. And we would have really enjoyed it if it had not been for this one thing. The staff at the hostel need to understand that it is normal for travelers to expect to be able to use the kitchen as it is something which is in every hostel. And if it is different at this hostel then that needs to be made clear by some kind of communication. I am aware that there is a language barrier, however a sign stating the hours that guests may use the kitchen or something like this would go a long way I think. ... More

    I have been travelling for many years and Le Pension Backpackers hostel is easily my least favourite ever. Although the place is clean, the shower is good and the two staff who worked there during my visit were friendly and helpful, there is honestly nothing else to recommend it to backpackers. It might be ok for Indian people wanting low-cost accommodation in Jaipur for a few nights but it's definitely not suitable for backpackers who want to be in a great location close to the centre, swapping stories and laughing with other travellers. I really missed the chats I'd had on the terraces at all other hostels in India. This place is a long way from the centre and you need to take a metro then a tuktuk to get there, which immediately adds to the nightly cost. The breakfast included with the price was a hot drink and a couple of slices of toast. Nothing else. The worse breakfast I'd had anywhere, ever. I booked for four nights and had to pay in full at check-in. After two nights though of having no-one to talk with, and plain toast for breakfast, I checked out and was told the unused nights were non-refundable. Fair enough I thought, I'll put that in my booking.com review. However, the owner told booking.com that I was a 'no-show', even though I'd stayed two nights and paid for four. He probably knew this meant that I couldn't leave a review on that site. Booking.com fully accepts that I stayed there but say their system is unable to override the 'no-show' status the owner gave me. Frankly this is an appalling failing and stops travellers leaving honest reviews when bad owners know about this loophole. Just take a look at the owner's rude responses to negative reviews in booking.com and you'll soon see why you should avoid this place no matter how cheap it claims to be.     In a quiet neighborhood and within a 15 minute walking distance to the metro ( or 30 rupees auto from Shyam nagar), Le Pension is a good place to stay. It has a good feel and good staff. Options to order food from the kitchen as well as do some cooking is available.... More

  2. As per Government regulations, it is mandatory for all guests above 18 years of age to carry a valid photo identity card & address proof at the time of check-in. Please note that failure to abide by this can result with the hotel denying a check-in. Hotels normally do not provide any refund for such cancellations.
  3. The standard check-in and check-out times are 12 noon. Early check-in or late check-out is subject to hotel availability and may also be chargeable by the hotel. Any early check-in or late check-out request must be directed to and reconfirmed with the hotel directly.
  4. Failure to check-in to the hotel, will attract the full cost of stay or penalty as per the hotel cancellation policy.
  5. Hotels charge a compulsory Gala Dinner Supplement during Christmas, New Year's eve or other special events and festivals like Diwali or Dusshera. These additional charge are not included in the booking amount and will be collected directly at the hotel.
  6. There might be seasonal variation in hotel tariff rates during Peak days, for example URS period in Ajmer or Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, the room tariff differences if any will have to be borne and paid by the customer directly at the hotel, if the booking stay period falls during such dates.
  7. All additional charges other than the room charges and inclusions as mentioned in the booking voucher are to be borne and paid separately during check-out. Please make sure that you are aware of all such charges that may comes as extras. Some of them can be WiFi costs, Mini Bar, Laundry Expenses, Telephone calls, Room Service, Snacks etc.
  8. Some hotels may have policies that do not allow unmarried / unrelated couples or certain foreign nationalities to check-in without the correct documentation. No refund will be applicable in case the hotel denies check-in under such circumstances. If you have any doubts on this, do call us for any assistance

Booking Policies

  6. The total price is inclusive of all applicable taxes. However, it does not include additional personal expenses like telephone charges, meals that aren't a part of your meal plan, any hotel services you use (like laundry and room service) or tips.The hotel will charge you directly for these when you're checking out.
  7. Hotels may charge a mandatory meal surcharge on festive periods e.g. Christmas, New Year's Eve etc. All additional charges (including mandatory meal surcharges) need to be cleared directly at the hotel.
  8. Some hotels may require guest(s) to furnish a valid photographic proof of identity in original at the time of Check-in. Kindly carry the same along with you to avoid any inconvenience. The following documents are recognized for this purpose: Aadhaar Card, Driving Licence, Passport or Election Card.
  9. Note PAN Cards will not be accepted as a valid ID card.
  10. All refund requests must occur within 60 days of hotel check-out. Any refund for checking out early or for no shows will be given at the sole discretion of goomo.com.
  11. In case of increase in tariff during the URS period in Ajmer or Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, the customer is liable to pay the difference if the Check-in date falls during those periods.
  12. Goomo acts purely as an agent to hotels/suppliers, hence Goomo shall not be responsible for issuance of any invoices on hotel room charges.
