Good NYE, terrible hotel
on Mar 3, 2019
First impression was - how is this a 4 star? It had the tiniest “lobby” which then reflected our rooms... here’s how our stay went.
Cabanas - cool concept, we had our own patio with chairs and everyone’s cabana led to the pathway to the beach. Very tiny, no room for our luggage, no space in the kitchen to put your stuff or makeup down. Hot water didn’t always work. There were no hair dryers either.
Pool - I wouldn’t consider this a pool it was tiny and not attractive
Restaurant - since this hotel was isolated we had no options but to eat here for breakfast and dinner. Service was slow we had to ask twice for masala chai which then came after 30 mins! The food tasted alright but we ended up getting food poisoned - we knew this because we only ate here!!
WiFi didn’t work and apparently they haven’t made efforts to fix it and they are aware of this
Laundry is cheap to do here in case you are visiting multiple cities like we did!

This resort has a beautiful setting but fell extremely short of our expectations.
*Sewage smell by unit... unable to sit on deck
*Pool really uncomfortable to use (even when not officially closed) entire time due to weddings and prep for them all around it
*VERY slow service in restaurant
*tried to control where we could sit in restaurant (wanted us down by smoking area)
*Meals coming out piece by piece
*Running out of items because of wedding parties (not sufficiently stocked)
*Poor wifi connections
*Malfunctioning air conditioner .... water poured into our floor from the unit.
*Noise .... had to call to stop music when it went beyond the allowable time
*Loud noise out back of unit until after 2am due to loading trucks for take away of wedding equipment
Be forewarned that during October to April there are many many weddings. I realize this is where they make their real ‘income’.
Had our travel agent told us that we would have made alternate plans.

My daughter got married at cabana. The staff helped us in all possible ways to make the wedding memorable.special mention of Mr mhamal Mrsanjeev singh and Mr prabhakar as all were very cooperative and went out of the way to make the event a success...The food was good.Mr peter took care of the entire menu superbly. We had a wonderful time at cabana.
Great Location, Poor Utilization. Good For events, Bad for a Vacation

I visited La Cabana for a wedding in February 2019. I arrived three nights prior to the start of festivities to get some beach time with the family. Instead of my usual choice of Montego Bay, we decided to stay at La Cabana purely for convenience.
La Cabana has a great location and adequate scale, but fails to live up to its full potential. When you see its layout and frontage, you'll realise that it is perhaps slothfulness, or just a lack of imagination on the part of its promoters that's holding this property back.
La Cabana comprises multiple wooden cabins and two tents for accommodation. there's also a beachfront bar and restaurant called Palash, which provides the in-room dining. there's a small pool. The cabins are poorly constructed - In our case - (212) the floor was badly designed, causing water to pool by the basin when one had a shower. The shower enclosure was just a single sheet of toughened glass - no curtain - that resulted in splashing all over the bathroom. In their defence, housekeeping kept up a steady supply of towels so that we could keep the floor free of flooding.
The entire resort appears to be a movie set - having aesthetic appeal, but full of functional imperfections - that become aggravating to a person keen on order and good design. It's almost as if someone decided to replicate Montego Bay without attention to detail.
As an event venue though, the resort does well, with a picturesque setting and multiple areas for various sized gatherings. It does get busy though, as on all the days we stayed there there was some sort of gathering in progress. During such times, in-room dining gets sluggish with their service, as they're probably more focused on the larger bundle of cash.
These events get noisy, often with music going on until midnight, so you'll have fun if you're here for a wedding, but you'll be disappointed if you're looking for a quiet vacation.
In summary, consider this place if you're looking to plan a destination wedding. Do not vacation here - you will not enjoy yourself. For what we paid for rooms, there are far better vacation spots available all along the Morji-Ashwe stretch.

The best part of our stay during Sep 2018 was the view from the resort and it being a beach facing property. Ashwem beach is one of the best quaint beaches of Goa, where you won't find many people visiting. If you want peace whether on beach or resort, away from the crowd, visit this place.
Only downside was since we visited during monsoons (off season), most of the beach restaurants were closed for the season.
