    Date Visited - 26th & 27th Dec 2015.. I stayed at this decent hotel during peak X'mas period and had to book it in advance a month before since other basic budget hotels were charging more exorbitant than usual during the same period up until first week of Jan (quite understandable considering the normal festive trend).. I'd say this place is a typical budget hill station hotel (standalone building) and is not a resort at all. A bit difficult to find if you ask anyone around but it is a whistle away from Hotel Emerald Inn on the same road. No matter what, if you are planning for a vacation during peak festive period, ensure you book in advance as I could see many families with kids making their way back since they could not find any place around or were back stabbed by other hoteliers as even shabby places are overbooked. The booking process is a bit tedious as you need to call them to reserve your seat and pay in advance through wire transfer (net banking). I'd ensured I did continuous followups and reminders just to assure myself I don't wander around with my family hunting rooms after I get there. May not be required as such but probably me. Booking process was prompt and the manager shared whats app images of my room before confirming it which was a good thing (Room charges informed to me were: per day - 2000 INR during festive times else 1000 INR during offpeak times). Overall, it is a new 4 storied property having a large room on every floor. We were allotted Room 301 (sorry, if I've numbered incorrectly but it was the top floor double room). Clean and nice rooms equipped with small LEDs showing regional telecast but mostly importantly the toilet was clean too.. The view is decent if you opt for the topmost floor with good bedding and king size double bed. The manager (teenager) speaks basic English and is helpful n friendly. There is no restaurant and you'll have to manage your food elsewhere or order it here from nearby restaurants directly. Fresh towels and toiletries provided everyday. If you ask me this is a decent n safe place to stay and is 5-7 mins walk to the town centre where you'll get everything you need (almost ;)).. I would suggest you to try the Maharaja Restaurant on main street which serves decent food or you'll find many local shops serving basic south Indian meals. Well I did not dare to have non-veg around and maybe I avoid having non-veg at any cramped or over crowded places especially during festive periods. My suggestions (take it or flush it down ;)) to other travel buddies visiting Munnar - 1. Avoid staying in the town centre n instead opt for hotels n resorts few miles nearby as the town stinks (is not kept clean); if you really want a feel of Munnar then you must stay few miles away from town in the hills or nearby the Dam area. 2. You'll get plenty of local taxis at the bus stand for touring near by places and including drop to Tekkady (I guess local site seeing charge you around 500-1K depending on the spots and duration) whereas outstation to Tekkady is @3K or so. 3. Do NOT go by bus to Tekkady as you'll miss beautiful nature and scenic spots where you can hop on n off if you are in ur own car. 4. All restaurants in Kerala serve Jeera (or similar spiced) hot/warm water to drink :).. I always opted bottled mineral water to avoid runtime hassles during my trip. 5. Would recommend inspire Holidays (ask for Davidson as your chauffeur) - I booked Munnar to Kanyakumari taxi for 6 days and Davidson kept filling me with lots of info during my travel. 6. DO NOT buy anything in Munnar or on your way down to Tekkady in tourist trap shops (no chips, or soaps, or coffee or spices).. You'll get most of them for less than half of the price in Tekkady and Trivandrum markets. 7. Kerala saries are cheaper in Tekkady and Kanyakumari than other tourist places. try n avoid them unless you don't have a choice. 8. Dont bother going to the highest peak for a glance during cloudy n foggy days..u wont see anything plus it is some 20-30 kms away and you'll need to walk another length to get to the peak; instead do the national park (Neel Goat or some endangered lamb -sorry) where you'll njoi the bus ride to the top and you'll get a similar scenic view around. Mind you nothing interesting in seeing those goats as such - not to me atleast except the views. Thanks.... More

    "Good basic amenities and helpful staff"

    This hotel had provided us good basic amenities. Rooms were kept very clean and room service is also excellent. The staff helped in giving information to travellers about the places to visit. Definitely next time I visit Munnar I will go to the same hotel. Also it is provided with beautiful garden behind for taking photographs we enjoyed a lot at this hotel.... More

What else then u need. i might have given 6 points out of 5 if possible. :) highly recommended for newly married couples and elders since such a caring. Double the satisfaction what you pay for...
