    A Perfect Budget Hotel for Business travelers and Families

    I stayed in this hotel during December 5-6, the fateful night when honorable CM of TN expired. Many of my office colleagues stayed earlier in this hotel and recommended me. So I didn't want to miss the opportunity this time. The best part of this hotel is its location. Just at the corner of Anna Salai and Venkatanarayana Road crossing. T.Nagar is walking distance. Major hospitals, Marina Beach, Temples, Railway Stations - everything within 3 to 4 km. Room I found to very clean and sufficiently big. The beauty of this hotel is the Rate. Room rent compared to that locality is very much affordable for middle-class travelers. And the beauty of the hotel is its dining facility. In cheap rate (may be one third of any hotels nearby), you will get sufficient food and snacks. The taste is wonderful, take my word. The behavior of all staffs is very warm and cordial. The receptionists are conversant with Hindi, English and Tamil. It also has parking space for drive-in customers. I can strongly recommend the travelers to avail the facility of the hotel.... More

    In preparing for our Chennai trip, I began researching places to stay around T. Nagar neighborhood, and a friend suggested Kuber Inn based on what they had heard. Initially we had stayed at another hotel and decided to check out this property first. The property is conveniently located near Nandhanam signal on Venkatanarayana Road and provides quick access to T. Nagar/Mylapore and Adyar areas, essentially what we were looking for. Just be prepared to give proper directions to the cabs and autos (since it is a one-way from T. Nagar towards Anna Salai at this end). The approach to the property is not all that welcoming (especially with water logging after a drizzle, it becomes a breeding place for mosquitoes which manages to peek inside the room but can be contained) and the appearance of the building itself could benefit from some basic facelift . On the contrary, the inside of it is totally a different story. We were impressed by the quality and cleanliness of the rooms. One of the best amenities is food. Ramesh, the Chef is fantastic - very cheerful and also speaks reasonably good English. The food is simple and homely. Going from the US, food was a concern, but not a day anyone in the family fell sick eating the food prepared by Ramesh. The one thing we wish they provided was filter coffee. Staff were very courteous and professional. Kudos to Mr. Senthil who is doing an admirable job. In our tour of India, what was disappointing in our stays was that the guests in general don't seem to care about following the no-smoking policy in rooms designated as such. Most every room we stayed smelled of smoke even though we were promised of non-smoking rooms. This was no exception in Kuber Inn too but they did do a good job of venting the room and changing linens so it essentially became "smoke-free" room before we moved in. I wish the hotels take this issue seriously and impose fines to curtail this menace. In talking to a few management folks, it seems that they are reluctant to do so for fear of losing their regular customers. This is deplorable and unacceptable. The staff in general seems to be overworked since these guys maintain the property as well as take care of the kitchen (on several occasions, I had witnessed some exasperated workers showing their frustration, understandably so but the management cannot be a witness to such indifference - they need to be trained on customer care). Another aspect for the management to consider if they are keen in bringing in families (as opposed to catering mostly to those on business trip), is to expand the breakfast facility to give some privacy to the families. In a nutshell, Kuber inn offers a respectable place to stay for a very reasonable price.... More

  3. The standard check-in and check-out times are 12 noon. Early check-in or late check-out is subject to hotel availability and may also be chargeable by the hotel. Any early check-in or late check-out request must be directed to and reconfirmed with the hotel directly.
  4. Failure to check-in to the hotel, will attract the full cost of stay or penalty as per the hotel cancellation policy.
  5. Hotels charge a compulsory Gala Dinner Supplement during Christmas, New Year's eve or other special events and festivals like Diwali or Dusshera. These additional charge are not included in the booking amount and will be collected directly at the hotel.
  6. There might be seasonal variation in hotel tariff rates during Peak days, for example URS period in Ajmer or Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, the room tariff differences if any will have to be borne and paid by the customer directly at the hotel, if the booking stay period falls during such dates.
  7. All additional charges other than the room charges and inclusions as mentioned in the booking voucher are to be borne and paid separately during check-out. Please make sure that you are aware of all such charges that may comes as extras. Some of them can be WiFi costs, Mini Bar, Laundry Expenses, Telephone calls, Room Service, Snacks etc.
  8. Some hotels may have policies that do not allow unmarried / unrelated couples or certain foreign nationalities to check-in without the correct documentation.   10. All refund requests must occur within 60 days of hotel check-out. Any refund for checking out early or for no shows will be given at the sole discretion of goomo.com.
  11. In case of increase in tariff during the URS period in Ajmer or Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, the customer is liable to pay the difference if the Check-in date falls during those periods.
  12. Goomo acts purely as an agent to hotels/suppliers, hence Goomo shall not be responsible for issuance of any invoices on hotel room charges.
