It's all about location in Central Chennai.

Mylapore is a residential area and also a cultural hub of Chennai city. Krishna Residency is a very reasonably priced stay option right next to the Kabaleeshwarar Temple. Rooms are small but clean with a/c and non a/c options. The a/c is the old fashioned window unit which can be noisy. There are plenty of food options within walking distance. Autorickshaws are available at the door but negotiate rates before starting.
O.K. for one night stay
on Oct 9, 2016
I have been visiting in this Hotel since ten years. But, on 2nd Oct and 7th Oct,2016- I spent one night each. The service has slipped. Room AC making heavy noise, mosquitoes in room and the receptionist-Radakrishnan - insisting on advance before allowing into rooms-treating guest as criminals. I told him I have cash in my inside pocket and the advance will be given on reaching the room-yet he refuses. Even for one day stay-insisting on Rs3500 advance. On earlier occasion the same person took away one day rent when I checked out 4 hours late. Avoid the HOTEL-emergency .They are not bothered about business. I heard they have captive customers consisting of marriage parties.
Only plus point, it is close to the temple.
Budget Hotel At Heart Of City
on Dec 5, 2015
I stayed here for 02 nights i.e. on 29-30 November, 2015. Heavy rains lashed the city resulted flood in Chennai as well as in Tamilnadu state. Rooms are small and good for stay of one person in one room. It is a budget hotel so far as the room rent is concerned. But if you ask for room service, the food becomes costly in comparison with the room rent. The Hotel has budget restaurant where one can have food. They have provision for providing hot water in bathrooms, but they could not provide me. They asked me to keep the hot water tap opened for some time, then only it will come. But since in this process, lot of water is wasted, I did not do that.....Dr Amrish Sinhaa, Mumbai

This is a decent place to stay for if one is looking for a budget hotel in a central location in Chennai. While the restaurant is not great, its location ensures that there are other options available nearby. The service is okay and overall its a good value for money hotel.

Mylapore is a part of Chennai where all the activity revolves around the famous Lord Shiva Temple popularly known as Kapaleeswarar Temple. There are only 2-3 good hotels in this area, one of them being Krishna Residency.
The positives about this hotel are

Friendly and helpful staff.
