Ideal place to stay at Ootty
on Dec 2, 2017
Nice rooms, good location and service. Most amazing experience was fireplaces. Much impressed with the service of staff. Having breakfast inside the glasshouse was enjoyable. Once who loves nature, I would like to recommend this property.

Had been to this place in Ooty for the second time. Arrived here from Wayanad on 21.11.17 with my parents, wife and two kids. I had booked the garden facing rooms in which we had stayed previously. A warm welcome from Sharmila at the front office and without any waiting we were given our rooms all set and ready. Karthik at the coffee shop served us lovely cappuccino which we had in the beautiful lawn. The live music at dinner time in the restaurant lobby By Mr Jaikumar was something we were looking forward to. It started on time and for the next three nights Mr Jaikumar was kind enough to sing all the tunes we requested . My family including both my little ones truly relished the music. Mr. Girish at the front office was extremely cooperative, helpful, courteous and hospitable. The restaurant has some very exclusive menu. The cook Mr Prabhat is a magician and the boys serving in the restaurant Pratik, Pintoo, Swaroop, Samrat, Jeeva to mention a few are all gr8 at their job. U can take your own drink too. So this combo of great food, service and music really makes your evenings. This property is my favourite in Ooty as it makes u feel at home.Few shortcomings though very small were there. All the red paint in the common areas in the lawn etc were very downmarket quality as it was all over our hands and my children's clothes. Small small things like daily complementary bottled water and cookies had to be reminded and asked for, which was a bit embarrassing too at times. Apart from these small issues the property is well kept and I would surely love to go there again, as I know that these shortcomings will be taken care. Also the toiletries were missing in the washrooms, which I remember were of very good premium quality during our last visit in October 2014. I was also told that little earth also had a GM for this property. I had requested twice with Sharmila Mam on front office that I wanted to see the manager, but somehow due to reasons unknown, we couldn't meet although we stayed there for three nights. The intercom was not operational for all our stay. These few things make me rate the property as very good and not excellent. But I would also add that whenever I happen to be in Ooty again I would love to stay at King's Cliff.
Colonial era dinner
on Nov 19, 2017
We were looking for a place to dine. This is a really nice secluded property. It's gives you a glimpse of colonial era gone by. We ordered steaks and lasagne both were done in an excellent way. Pricing, ambiance, location must say absolutely bang on. Keep up the good work in maintaining it folks.
Old World Charm
on Nov 8, 2017
King's Cliff is a true gem tucked away in a quiet corner of Ooty. Its an old authentic English Bungalow which has been converted into a Hotel. The restaurant is one of the best in Ooty and has a nice mix of Indian, Oriental and Continental fare. Staff are extremely courteous.
The only downside is that as the restaurant is situated in the sitting room of the Manor and can tend to get a bit noisy. On one particular night, a large group of outside guests made a huge racket till late at night, drinking and shouting and all pleas to the staff to tone it down was of no avail. if this is taken care of, I cant find any fault with the place.
All in all would definitely visit again.

It is an excellent property, the quaint old world charm and so very cosy.
There were fireplaces in every room, making our stay homely and comfortable
The music in the evenings was live and great retro songs, adding to the ambience
The staff was courteous and hospitable and really went out of their way. We had a lovely and the most memorable time.
Don't think I can forget this trip and I thank Kingscliff and it's staff for making our trip so memorable
Love the place and shall keep going back
