Good stay but needs to improve
on Dec 22, 2017
We stayed at Kenilworth Goa as a part of our recent travel which included 3 nights at Kenilworth and 5 at Taj Exotica. When the comparison came between these 2 resorts the hospitality of Taj scored 75% above Kenilworth. we stayed from December 16th to 19th 2017. The property is beautiful , but is now undergoing renovation and the same according to people within the resort is likely to go on for almost one year. We asked for a room away from renovation , but ended up getting a room just next to the renovation wing and had the sight of the broken windows with workers off and on staring inside your room and to make worse these workers stayed in the room even at night time . The room we booked was a superior deluxe room with breakfast and the facilities in the room was just ok . The breakfast was fine . We had dinner mostly in the beach shack which is at stone's distance and was called Balton . The food there was wonderful . The kids play room downstairs was under renovation and closed . However , they had a temporary arrangement near the reception for kids and the girl Maira look really good care of the kids during the stay . She taught my daughter bangle making , pot art and was really good. The food for the kids was ok but was pricey as a small portion of khicdi was around Rs 550 in comparision to Taj exotica where its 350 !!! ( thought it was a far superior star property )
Coming to check out - it was really embarrassing. A guy comes to the room to take stock of the mini bar and goes out . Then he comes back again in 10 mins -KNOCKS and says " I will lock the mini bar " -- he goes in and locks it and goes out as if he has secured a bank locker . The same thing could have been done in a polite way by checking the bar when the guest goes down for check out and he could then inform billing if he found anything missing. Also my check out time as mentioned in the booking was 12 pm and i had told reception that i would check out by 11.30. But I get a knock on my door at 11 am and a guy with the luggage cart was waiting --"Sir - can I take ur luggage down?" -- StRANGE AND UNWANTED GESTURES
Also I had updated the hotel multiple times by email that I have transferred the extra GST and received the confirmation of the same by email . I updated them again at check in and they acknowledged receiving it . But after check out as I was just boarding the cab, i get the security asking me to hold back as the cashier had sais that they did not receive the GST. The front desk girl Avia ( i think ) , comes rushing saying --please wait , we need to check if GST was received . Though she agreed finally that the payment was already made and said sorry - yet the parting damage was done as this same issue was already clarified . There seemed to be no co-ordination between different wings
THE POOL was good and large
Overall it lacked the class of a five star , nor did it have the brilliance and the modern facilities . I am writing this review staying at Taj Exotica as of today and so feeling the difference so much . I would not recommend it again
( I had booked this resort based on my previous stay for 1 night in July 2017 , when things were not so bad and facilities were better in the new wing where I then stayed )

The best place for kids or familiy i can say. So many things to do. Basketball... swimming pool... tennis court....beach...indoor games....amazing spa... pub...gym... chess court.... 8 ball pool table... air hockey.... video games.
After all this one can eat the mouth watering dishes in the restaurant. Pls save some space for the amazing pastries also. Then crash on the huge bed for a nice siesta. Enjoyed my stay with only one grouse. Pls check the complimentary items stacked in ur room. They had not kept the paid chocolates and chips in my room but still charged me for it. The exit from the hotel was unpleasant after this incident.
pleasant and cool resort

I visited this place recently with my wife and had a very pleasant stay. If you want a lazy Goan Holiday, this is the place to be.This property is very well maintained, staffs are extremely courteous and that will add up to your experience. It's located in serene South Goa ,the beach is barely a 5 mins walk from the property.Though it is not a private beach , but it's very clean and well secured. As Christmas is round the corner the property was beautifully decorated.Food in the restaurant is very good .Breakfast is a lavish affair, you will be spoiled with choices.Swimming pool is huge ,there is a recent addition of a Jacuzzi and the Spa is equally good. The rooms are nicely done and has a beautiful balcony.
Its a quick drive from Airport and the cab cost will be Appx.Rs.600.It's not a commercially located area,so might have to walk a bit to find local shops/medicine store/ATM's.

We stayed a night. The resort is very nice and self sufficient. Once you checked in, you have the beach, pools, gym and spa to keep you entertained. Check in was smooth and the staff (Avia & Raju) are very friendly. There is fast free WiFi access at both the rooms and lobby. We had nice cocktails and fresh seafood at Zeebop. It is an upscale shack overlooking the Utorda beach which is really clean and delicious pleasant. The beach is just 5 Min away. The rooms are spacious with lovely balcony overlooking the greenery. Bottled mineral water are provided along with a kettle to make your own tea/coffee. Nice selection of tea bags and coffee sachets are provided. The bed is comfortable. The hotel provides shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. The bathroom could do better with some renovation.
The pool is lovely with a bar you could swim up to. The gym looks well equipped too.
Dinner at Portofino is nice. Ordered the eggplant tomato pasta and mushroom salad.
The breakfast spread offers a egg station, a dosa station and a fruit (fresh papaya, watermelon and pineapple) station. Many varieties of food from noodles to porridge to danish. The masala tea is delicious excellent. It’s lovely sitting facing the open greenery and pool while enjoying our breakfast.
