on Dec 26, 2017
We stayed at tree house in December 20-22. Its The retreat for those want to relax in serene nature in a spice garden with five star amenities without formalities and monotony associated with 5 star hotels . Staff is courteous, owners are friendly. My son Got friendly with owner,s kid Anantha and kept on asking why we cannot stay any longer. Thoroughly enjoyed stay with hiking, yoga and tea making sessions and above all homemade Vegetarian food with Minimal spice , oil and continental taste added to Indian cuisine in the Spice country - Kerala !.
For all those who want to stay far from maddening crowd.....

Could not ask for anything more except perhaps one more night
A litle gem in Munnar
on Dec 15, 2017
We arrived at Pallivasal when it was beginning to get dark in the evening and we were asked to wait for a few minutes for the hotel jeep at a dusty and crowded corner. Within a few minutes, the hotel jeep arrived to pick us up. The jeep descended onto an extremely narrow and steep road which looked dangerous to say the least. It was not easy for a weak hearted driver. To enter the reception-cum-restaurant, we were asked to take our shoes off. As we entered the room, we were startled to see a 14 inch TV. Not a very nice beginning.
However, as we woke up the next morning, the beauty of the place dawned on us. Everything about this resort was done tastefully. Lush greenery all around and simple yet delicious breakfast started to change our opinion about this wonderful little place. The rooms are spacious, well-lit and well-ventilated. The highlight of the place is the cardamom plantation within the resort where they show you around. Mr. Joy, the manager, is an avid bird watcher and takes you out on bird watching trips early morning and explains about the local flora and fauna. This review will not be complete without a word of appreciation about the food they serve. Pure, clean, delicious, home-like vegetarian food. You cannot get such tasty food anywhere else in Munnar.
If you want a luxury 5-star hotel, Kaivalyam is probably not your idea of a standard 5-star hotel. However, what it offers is pure pristine nature in a tastefully built little resort which fits perfectly a wonderfully beautiful place like Munnar. I just wish they could offer better quality toiletries than cheap Medimix soap and pedestrian shampoos in plastic bottles. One expects a classy place like Kaivalyam to do something better than Medimix. Another area that needs to be improved are the pillows. They're extremely thin and small - the kind that I've never seen in any other hotel. I hope the owner will address these extremely small issues.
Mr. Harish is a gentle soft-spoken person and his staff, though obviously not from a hotel institute, has been trained to be polite and efficient. I would love to visit the place again.
A beautiful experience

We Stayed in this resort for two days. Staying here itself is an experience of its own. Beautiful surrounding, lush green, soothing music, birds chirping all the time. Its is a non alcoholic and vegetarian resort. Mr. Harish the owner of the property has given a spiritual touch to this place. You can feel the positive vibe/aura in this place. We reached in the evening. They welcome us with a cup of refreshing drink. The double bedded rooms are spacious and has beautiful view of mountains. Mr. Harish guided us for a 1 hr meditation. It was wonderful experience. Next day early morning we went for bird watching in nearby area. Believe me you are in a different world while staying here. Had a nice breakfast. We went for Munnar site seeing. Munnar is amazing. The Resort is not on the main road. There is a 1.5 KM zeep drive(provided by the hotel) to reach the property. The staff guided for a spice plantation tour inside the property. Overall we had a wonderful and memorable stay in Kayvalyam. We strongly recommend minimum 2-3 days stay here.

The resort accomadated our request to pick us from the airport at odd hrs(0330am),we reached the resort at 0515am and was welcomed with a hot cup of masala chai(much needed after a long flight and drive). We stayed in duplex tree house, which has private bathroom（shower as well as bathtub）.There is stairway to the bed room downstairs, the bed is absolutley comfortable, there is cooler in the room as well(which was seldom used).Every day morning we are woken up by the sound of chirping birds,we sat by the balcony and enjoyed the clean air.and breeze from lush greenary. The breakfast at the property is complimentary and delicious.
Mr Harish, the property owner teachs yoga(complimentary activity) every day except sunday, you feel energised after the session for the rest of the day's activities(namely trekking). Mr Kutta, our driver assigned from the property is a good tour guide and super friendly. All the staff are very sweet, polite and humble. Special credit to the manager Mr Mahesh, who assisted us in booking our stay in allepey. All in all we enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.
