Great little find.

We recently stayed here upon arriving in India with our 2 children (6&9). Its a great place at a great price in a vibrant location. The rooms are clean, the staff are great and the the rooftop restaurant is delicious and well priced. It’s has character and charm throughout. The tour operator was a god send when our train to Rathambore was cancelled last minute and he arranged a driver for the 8 hour drive within an hour... Altho the driver wasn’t that great (another story!). I would give this hotel 5 stars but was let down by the lack of hot water. Would still recommend highly tho.
Wonderful boutique hotel with a beautiful rooftop garden restaurant

My family and I flew in to Delhi at the beginning of our trip through India in November. Jyoti Mahal Hotel quickly became a haven for us - a lovely place to escape the sensory assault of the streets (which of cause is strongest felt when you first arrive in the country). My memory is furnished with the lovely rooms, cool marble floors, wonderful antique statues and decorations, and the charm of the rooftop garden restaurant (pineapple juice tastes better in India!) with it's wonderful variety of food and great service.
I highly recommend this hotel for new travelers in India - it is around the corner from a currency exchange shop, a main shopping street with ATMs and food stalls, and only a block or two away from a large market/bazaar. The rooms have hot water 24hrs, decent bathrooms, good beds, and are reasonably priced.
Make sure you bring a really detailed map of New Delhi with you though (that covers from Parharganj to Connaught Place). Good maps appear to be hard to come by in Delhi.

The Jyoti Mahal Hotel situated in the vibrant area of Parah Ganj is a great location and the hotel itself is beautiful. The staff are really friendly and very helpful. There is a girl at the desk called Sonya who is a great member of their staff. She's a can do person and is readily available to help with car hire and taxis or anything you can think of. Also the food in the hotel is really really good and upstairs rooftop terrace is a great place to chill in the evening time. Overall a great place to sleep and ear and would highly recommend it.
An Oasis of Tranquility

You need look no further... you have just arrived in a Hotel which is like Home from Home. A beautiful Indian boutique style hotel with fabulous rooms & great shower facilities. Myself and 3 friends went on an adventure holiday in India and visited 9 different cities. The Jyoti was our anchor hotel and we went back 3 times to stay in between the cities we visited. Staff were incredibly friendly & helpful to all our needs. They couldn't do enough for us and service was always with a smile. Sonia was a fab and helped us book many outings and trips whilst we were there. Alfred one of the owners was a diamond and went above & beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable & that we were at all times happy. They have a delightful roof-top garden which serves drink & food - the food was excellent & always freshly made. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough - it is situated in the heart of the Paraganji so if you like your markets & shopping your in the right spot. After a hard day of haggling, crazy traffic & sight seeing you will walk through the doors of the Jyoti Hotel and it will be like arriving home - all the staff are short of doing is giving you a pair of slippers. Simply the Best :-)

Beautiful rooms and lobby, very friendly staff at the reception and conveniently located just off the main bazaar. Highly recommended if you want to see and experience the real Delhi. The breakfast is reasonable and a good start for a Delhi day.
