We stayed in the Sea View Room, one bedroom suite. The hotel only has one of these so you need to book early. We had two balconies and a lovely view of the harbour. Our suite was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable, You can't beat the location...an easy walk down Ponsonby to all the restaurants and shops. Walk downtown to ferry terminal or take a bus. Paddy, the manager, was very kind and helpful with our excursions as we had never been to Auckland before. He took excellent care of us and made our time in Auckland very enjoyable.
Nice place in a good location, very good value

Nice place in a peaceful area, lovely houses around. This accomodation is within the walking distance to marina, town center and street with bars and restaurants. Parking was fine, the room is a bit small for 2 big suitcases, but it was fine, and bed was comfortable. There is a large TV, good kitchen, good size bathroom, enough room for cosmetic bags.
Excellent November 2-night Stay

Two adults, one teenager, stayed 2 nights in November.
Pros: location near trendy restaurants, one mile to the base of Auckland bay bridge/shore, excellent for runners to easily access the shoreline path
Nice queen bed, good mattress (but no space around the bed, which almost touched the walls). Reasonable pull-out sofa bed for teenager.
TV in living room area and bedroom.
Good hot water and water pressure in shower.
Well-stocked kitchenette with microwave, hot plate, mini-frig, electric kettle.
No problem with check-in, check-out or billing.
On-site parking available for no extra charge.
Cons: Can't think of any - this place is GREAT!

Great little spot, clean comfy updated rooms , had a nice lounge area with a kitchen and pull out bed/couch and separate bedroom, has front entry deck and rear deck of bedroom , close walk or uber to lots of restaurants and bars in Ponsonby and Herne bay. Would definitely stay again.

Upon arrival at the hotel, a male at the front desk told us that our room was ready, but would cost us $10 for each hour prior to their check in time. Luckily one of our friends checked in the same hotel a day earlier. We visited with them and stored our luggage in their room. Our friends informed us that a small carton of milk would be given upon check in and we can use it as cream for our coffee. Couple hours later, when we settled in our own room, I realized no milk was offered. I went back to the front desk, the same male receptionist/owner stared at me and quoted: I offered you the milk earlier and you said "no". I was dumbfounded, thought to myself: why would I turn down the milk when my friend reminded me to get it for our coffee. I never ever said "no" during the whole time of check in. This fellow turned around and got me the milk unwillingly.
When I couldn't find any Kleenex tissue in the room, I went to the front desk, the same fellow told me a box would be under the sink. I said I checked but couldn't find it. He gave me a box (again unwillingly). The next day, he came to my room and asked if he can come in and look for the box of Kleenex, which he found under the sink, pointed to it and said "it's always right there." I guess he always wanted to be right and the customers were always wrong...........
The room was acceptable but small, with a leaky shower stall and moldy tile grouts. I don't recommend staying in this hotel if the same male receptionist/owner is still working there.
